Now–a Year Later

HE is the LORD. He created the WORLD–it functions within HIS timing! I had been a good and faithful wife by the world’s definition…hard working, striving for perfection in my home and my family. πŸ™ My life fell apart before my eyes–everyone was shocked.

In desperation, I searched many places for help–I even spent thousands of dollars on programs and counselors and books. I was shocked to find FREE help here at RMIEW, and it was immediately obvious to me that this help was different. Rather than requiring me to do MORE and do MUCH, it required me to put down the burden–to lay it at the feet of my Heavenly Love! WHAT RELIEF, when I finally let go!

Currently, I live in our large marital home, alone. It has needed many repairs, and our HH has led me to prepare it for sale. It is a big house, and I live here alone–my children are all grown. BUT, I do not have spare money for expensive repairs, nor are they the kind I can do myself. Selling this house in its current condition would not be financially wise…the market here is a bit slow…wants houses where nothing is broken and that look up-to-date. I thought of selling to a flipper, but flippers want bargains for way less than this house is worth.

Every time I got referrals for handymen, they were too busy, or they didn’t even return my call. One started but then disappeared. Even the realtors have been surprised at how often I ran into roadblocks. I know that it was my HH saying, “not yet” or “not him.” A year ago, I found someone who was a good Christian man who came well-recommended, but the bid from that company was never returned, and it was clear that He told me not to call them back.

Now–a year later–I ran across that same Christian man’s business card, and, seeking God, was told to call him. I found out that he had left the company he had been working for (for many good reasons), and now he was working on his own. My call had happened just after he and his six kids and wife had been praying for a job with enough work to keep him busy for a while! πŸ™‚

At this moment, he is outside, replacing all the wood on my deck. He has given me fair bids, and even pointed out ways to accomplish things in less expensive ways!

My delay has answered the prayers of this family…and delayed my moving from here for reasons only my HH knows. I am content, waiting…knowing that the safest and the best place to be is WITHIN GOD’s PLAN, not my own! (See: Living the Abundant Life.)

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. (Psalm 27: 13,14)

If we wait upon The LORD, we can know that we are safe WITHIN HIS PLAN!
