I wanted to share an update about my mom since her time at the hospital as you may remember my PR “MY HH SAVED MY MOM!!!!” Little by little she is regaining her strength and I can only say that having her with us is a miracle in itself. I noticed that I never shared what my mom is living with and wanted to write this PR. About 4 years ago my mom came back from a trip to Russia, (My mom has traveled the WORLD literally) and mentioned that she felt a little tired while she traveled. This would be the first time she decided to make an appointment with a cardiologist.
Normally to see a specialist it would take a couple of weeks at least, but the office was able to make an appointment that week. The doctor starts doing tests and realized something was not right, so he sends her straight to the hospital. What was discovered is that she had congestive heart failure and at the time her heart was pumping at 18%. Well everyone was shocked—asking how she was even functioning. So you understand and as I shared before, my mom is very active. She goes to the gym, loves to dance and always on the move, so she had NO real symptoms of her condition. Only our HH knows that it was His perfect time to bring this condition to light. It was a shock to all of us, but she was taken care of. She had a pacemaker/defibrillator installed and was put on medication. She continued to do amazing until a couple of months ago this year.
Many factors took place but the one that sent her to the hospital recently was a flu that she caught. In her condition, it hit her 10 times harder than an average person. To understand her condition, she has to limit her salt and liquid intake because she will easily restain water, but with the flu, you need to hydrate, so it was a very careful balance that was needed. She became very weak, but as I shared in the previous PR her heart was opened to know more of HIM and today, with adjustments to her diet and medications, each day she is doing better physically and most importantly spiritually and emotionally.
Now when we see each other we talk about HIM and how she is learning to trust in HIM. She shared how she asked HIM for forgiveness when she was complaining about how she felt, but started praising Him for ALL the good He is doing and realized that she is blessed. Ladies, I don’t know the future, but what I do know is that she is seeking Him in all things and HE turned this very difficult situation for our good so she could start walking intimately with her HH — I am just so blessed to witness it. I pray He continues to allow her to have the quality of life she desires and that in her time here on earth, she can live the abundant life He has promised all of us until He calls her home.
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”
