Something truly AMAZING has happened!! Our oldest son is getting married. Praise Our Lord Almighty that they are NOT living in the ways of the world, making mistakes from the start that so many make. They don’t live together, even when our son moved 3 hours away to start a new career everyone believed that his girlfriend would go with him and they would move in together. But by the Grace of God they made the decision not to do that. They do not have children out of wedlock. They have always shown respect and love for each other.

Before my son proposed he went and asked her mother and father for their permission to ask her to marry him. All these things in itself are Blessings from their Heavenly Father. Whenever I get compliments on our children, how great they are and how good I raised them, I always give all the Glory to My Lord it’s not because of me that they are doing so well, I’ve made my mistakes, it is definitely due to The Lord God Almighty.

The praise I’m also sharing today is that they decided to be married in our home church being that the presence of the Lord in their marriage is so important to them both. They believe it’s not the “wedding” that’s important but it’s the covenant of marriage WITH The Lord that the most important part. Praise God!! \o/

Our beautiful local home church that we attended (before I let go of our church and started being a church without walls) was booked. So they booked a date in an affiliated church in a neighboring town. I was asked to go to this church to meet the bride in the church office for some wedding planning. When I arrived and saw the location and the building I was a bit nervous. It didn’t seem to be a good neighborhood and the church building reflected this as well. I’m not judging the congregation or the church building I just felt that this was not where we needed to be.

As I sat in my car I was speaking to My Love and asked Him—Is this really what You want for them My Love? Then as I sat quietly and listened for Him I was lead to call our local church and ask if there was an opening for their date, that is now just a month away. The receptionist told me that there was another wedding in the calendar but they had to postpone and it is now open!! Can you believe this??

I told my son about it and when his bride showed up we talked about it. They seemed happy about it and was ready to make the transition over. But remember that the enemy comes to steel, kill and destroy. A day later they tell me that they decided not to move the wedding to our church. I felt this resembled the story in the Abundant Life books when Michelle’s daughter, not trusting in the Lord and going on her own understanding, accepted a lesser blessing. I accepted the Will of the Lord and left it in His hands asking Him to take care of it and speak to their hearts.

The day after, I received a phone call from the church receptionist asking if they were coming in, she didn’t want to miss them as she was not going to be in the office that afternoon. I let my son know about the call but his decision remained the same.

I still had this feeling that the out of town church was not what his Heavenly Father wanted for them. It is hard to see our children accept a lesser blessing but I stayed quiet and kept giving it to My Love only. I knew He would do what’s best. He knows what’s best for us more than we do ourselves and I was willing to accept whatever He allowed.

I asked that if it is His will, let FH (former husband) call me and ask me about the church and I will tell him all about it. The very next morning FH called and asked me about the church!! I told him all about it. He said they need to book our church. He called both our son and his fiancé and spoke to them. Later I let my son know of my prayer and he was surprised by his Dad’s call and advice about the church.

I just told our son to pray about it and listen for the Lord’s leading. This was a good time to learn how to ask the Lord when making decisions, letting Him lead him in decisions that’s best for him and his new wife. His plan is best, His will be done.

Then I again kept quiet and prayed, speaking only to My Love about it, leaving it in His hands. I had no doubt that He would take care of it all. This was a little difficult waiting but I knew it was building more patience, trust and faith.

A couple of mornings later and my son tells me that they decided to book the wedding date at our beautiful local church!!! Alleluia!!! \o/
