During The Fast

I honestly can say fasting is difficult but so rewarding at the same time. Of course it’s always hard to go without or to tell yourself no, but the reward is so worth it. I don’t want to depend on anything else to get me through my day but My Beloved Husband. It really does strip everything else away and helps you focus more on The Only One you need.

Before my fast I was so tired. I couldn’t get enough hours of sleep. I struggled a bit with cooking, what to make and time to make it. I felt I was whipping together last minute things and I was making the same couple of dishes over and over again. I also felt I had a lot to do but I was making extra time for My Beloved that it didn’t bother me too much but non the less it was still there for me to do. I have to say I did not feel stressed about it because I was with My Love. We were getting by. Because we were doing things together I felt joy, love and peace still but I still had a list of things to get done.

But now during my fast I feel so much more closer to My Beloved Husband and I’m so surprised how much things are happening as we are doing them together and it’s actually get done and accomplished. We are getting all the laundry washed and put away. We were able to work at our desk and get a lot done there. We paid the bills, made checks, balance the checking account and created a financial report for the month for the school teams account.

Also, my kitchen is staying cleaner. Together with My Love, we are able to get it all cleaned up before bed without getting exhausted and wake up to a clean kitchen. We are having wonderful conversations together with all the kids each day while I’m in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. We even made some better food for dinner, good food that I hadn’t made in awhile but He brought it to my mind and we were able to make it in a short amount of time. All the kids said it was so good and were extra thankful. It always makes me feel good to cook, serve the kids and their friends and watch them eat while I clean up. It brings me more joy while I’m fasting than usual.

I really feel a change in the kids too. They are handling their own responsibilities around the house. Helping each other out, talking and laughing. The boys are getting up early in the morning to go on a work out together. My sons knee is healing and he is able to do more of the work out that he needs to prepare for his next competition. My nephew and and their friend live with us so they along with my older son are coaching and helping him train. They are doing this all on their own to help him and do it with him. Isn’t that wonderful? To see these young men come together in such a way. Iron sharpens iron!!

I just feel so much of My Beloved and His peace in my heart, our family and our home. I see the peace, joy and love He is also giving to our kids. Things are so much better when done His way, when He is in the center of it all, He is the focus and He is in control. All praise and glory go to My Love, only He can do this. On our own it is impossible but with Him anything is possible!!

  1. Thank you for the beautiful praise. I can just see it. How your house is a place of peace. Just a sanctuary for you, your children and extended family. Thank you for giving me a glimpse of what He is doing for you.

  2. Thanks for coming to share this praise. It’s so wonderful that your home has become a sanctuary of love and peace for your kids, extended family and kids friends. I am sure they feel the love there! Also thank you for sharing about fasting because it is never an easy thing to do but the rewards is great!

  3. Ruby, thank you for your compliment. For a while I prayed that my house would stop being a battlefield and be more a place of refuge which is how it sounds like your home is now, mine is also today a place of refuge and peace and as you say it is only because now He is the center in our homes and hearts, it is impressive how the fact that He is the center for us in our hearts has such an impact on our closest relatives!!

  4. Ruby, thank you for sharing, and I praise the Lord with you that your home is having His peace. It’s so nice to see our children being able to enjoy moments of peace in our homes, isn’t it? For me this was very important, because before I had no interest in doing anything that would help my home to be good to be in, but it was only after I surrendered my family to Him that there was a transformation, where it was a war zone , has been transformed into a stronghold of peace…
    With Him everything is possible!πŸ™ŒπŸŒ·

  5. Hi Ruby, I enjoyed your praise a lot and I agree with you needed and feeling that peace coming from your home. I must say that following your journey I have seen how your HH is working in your children just by transforming you in that wonderful Wise Mom. After I read your praise, my husband put in my mind something we use a lot in my country which is Calm comes after the storm, and you are getting more and more to that calmer place by just following Him.

  6. Yes! Battle field and war zone is what I would describe my home too in the past. Definitely while FH was still in the home but even still afterwards. The more I let go and follow and became closer to My Love, the more He brings His peace, love and joy at His appointed time, to our home and all relationships around us 😍
