Lavished in His Love Helped Me Cope with my Brokenness

Dear Brides, do not listen to ANY voices except that of the Lord as it says in chapter 8 “Who Are You Listening To?”Β  because there are many people that will also come and honey coat a situation that will inevitably turn into sin that will lead to death, maybe not a physical death right but you will die a slow death inside as you begin to mourn the Holy Spirit.

Romans 6:16 β€œDon’t you know that when you give yourselves to obey someone you become that person’s slave? If you are slaves of sin, then you will die. But if you are slaves who obey God, then you will live a godly life.”

Just recently I came out of a situation with a person that was manipulative and controlling and soon I found myself in sin as I was a slave to what this person told me to do or not to do. For the fear of losing the relationship. Soon I was not living the Godly life that I was so accustomed to and I lost my peace along with my self-worth and a whole lot of other things that made me feel worthless.

Returning wholeheartedly back to the Lord I realised that God is the only way there are no detours. No matter how much something is honey coated and sounds good for the momentβ€” sin is and will always be a sin. And once you are involved in it, it is difficult to get out of unless you return to Him with your whole heart. The time that I spent wallowing in the sin is now once again being spent with the Lord. Throughout this time the voice I was listening to was that of the enemy (not the other person). He twisted the situation around so that it all sounded that it was not sin. All the while he gave me examples of others that were doing it and it all sounded good. In the end, it was a huge mistake and I lost the peace that I once had. All the while He waited for me to return He did not stop loving me and now He is lavishing me with His love to help me cope with my brokenness.

1 Samuel 15:24 “Because I feared the people and listened to their voice”.

Do not listen to the voices of anyone besides that of the Lord. If you are unsure of any given situation take it to the Lord to hear what he has to say about it. That is the only way to have peace. Do not conform to the world’s way of thinking and do not do the things you hear from other people unless you are sure that it is written in His Word.

If you’ve ever been where I’ve been or you’re there now, please pray with me: Lord you know I still cannot understand how I became involved in the situation I found myself in. Here I was thinking I was so strong in my faith and it did not take much for me to fall into sin again. I am asking You to give me more resistance to manipulative talk from the enemy, to realise that what You say in Your Word is for my GOOD!! and not to bow down to the desires of the flesh.

Dear Brides, do not listen to anyone who wants to take you away from God and what He says is best for you. Especially people that you believed you trusted and thought will be good for you. Listen only to the voice of the Lord and stay in the Word so that you will know the truth from a lie.
