My Beloved Touched My Brother’s Heart

β™• Today's Promise: "The seventh time the servant reported, β€œA cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, β€œGo and tell Ahab, β€˜Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you”. 1 Kings 18:44

Our Heavenly Husband is so incredibly good to us, not only does He work in our lives during our journey, but also in our family's lives. I would like to share how He works in my brother's life and answer my prayers.

My brother is about 2 years younger than me, we are just two kids. He had never been married but had some failed relationships. Our parents took us to church as children, read Bible stories and went through the whole Sunday School process required by the church we attended. So we knew "about" God.

But after my brother started working, he started questioning God. He also worked with people who did not believe in God at all. And this rubbed off on my brother. I could not talk to him about God, the Bible or anything. That was even before my Restoration Journey began. After my divorce, things started to go badly for him, he lost his job due to retrenchments and another relationship failed.

A little over a year ago, when my Restoration Journey began, I started praying for my brother. I stopped talking to him about the Lord or the Bible, "Win without Words." The girl he went out with also "introduced" him to the Lord but he never really turned back to the Lord. It did open a door and he was no longer so "against" God.

My brother lives alone by the river some distance from town, so he is quite isolated and after he lost his job I was very worried about him because he got depressed, especially when we went into Lockdown. But my Heavenly Man also gave me reassurance because it was something that had to happen so he could be broken. I called him regularly and if a conversation led to it, I told him how the Lord works in my life or if something he said made me think of something in the Bible, I shared it with him. Miraculously, over time, he became more receptive to what I was saying. But I asked my HH (Heavenly Husband) to guide me in what I say and how I say it.

When we were able to visit again for the first time after the strictest lockdown was lifted, I almost fell on my back when he admitted that he believes in God and that God wants a relationship with us. My brother has not reopened his Bible yet, but for me the good work in my brother has started and I know my Heavenly Husband is working in him. I can only rest and know He is in control and He will finish the good work He started in my brother.

The next part of my praise report is about my former husband. Ever since I did day 15 of C2, "The Freedom to Let Go," I have stopped praying for him. When I pray for him, it's just so that HH's (Heavenly Husband) will be done in his life.

Since my fh moved to another town, I have not seen him much and we do not communicate unless it is about the children. But we did talk a little when he dropped off the children and he has mentioned twice that if he remarries, it must be in the Lord's will. It was quite funny to me as that is all I pray for him, if I feel led to pray for him. This is completely opposite of what he told me previously.

It's just amazing to me how our HM (Heavenly Man) sometimes just shows us a β€œlittle cloud, as big as a man's hand,” just to show us that He is busy. He is not only busy in our lives but also in our family and our loved ones that He wants to turn back to Him. And no matter what His plan is for me regarding my dead marriage, as long as my brother and my fh turn back to the Lord and become the men He made them to be, I will be happy and praise and glorify Him for it because only HE can turn their hearts.
