Not like Other Religious People

We have to believe that everything turns to good for those who love HIM!! My mom is a strong woman. She is active going to the gym, plays the guitar and sings in a chorus, just to name a few. She always has an activity scheduled during her week and lots of friends that love spending time with her. Although I love seeing my mom always happy and full of life, my heart always wanted her to know Jesus more intimately. I have always shared my love for HIM and she is a believer, but to know Him as her HH.

Today I am with her at the hospital where she has been being treated for many things. It has been very hard for her because she is so healthy and we have been here for several days. Although I know she is seeking physical health, I am also praying for spiritual and emotional health. While here, she asked for prayer and to please send a message to all my friends, which I did at the time she asked. On one of the evenings, I was proofing Praise Report’s for the Spanish team, my Love said to read them to her and that she needed His bread of life. I asked if she would like to hear and she said yes. As I read, they were beautiful PR’s of women who had found Him as their HH and how they were happy and free from anxiety regardless of their circumstances. She started asking so many questions about the ministry and didn’t want me to stop. Now every night she has asked me to read to her. I ask Him what and He provides His word, stories or inspirational messages.

Today she woke up and said that if Jesus had woken her up today it was because He wants her alive and well. She shared how she needs more of Him and she feels He is calling her. She doesn’t know exactly how, but she wants more of Him. Well, there I shared my testimony on how I came to know Him as my everything and first love!! We cried and she said to me that what she sees in me is so rare. She said, “You have a love for everyone, no matter what they do or say, not like other religious people.” She shared that she does not want to fear but also rest in Him and she knows He can do it. Now she praises Him for everything. Gives Him glory. I see her heart humbling to Him. She has been asking for medication to sleep, seeking rest and last night she said she prayed for HIM to give her rest and she didn’t take anything and slept. “There is nothing impossible with God and if He has allowed it, it is for a reason and I trust Him”, my mom says!!

One morning I asked my HH what to read to her. So I picked up a book and He guided me to a page with the scripture in Ephesians 3:19-21 "and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

The author shared how she wanted to change, but she realized that she could not do it in her own strength and absolutely needed God. When I finished, mom said, “I can’t believe it. This is exactly what I prayed. I surrender my life and wanted Him to change me so that I can love all those he has put around me and be used by Him”.

WOW!! This time with her has been amazing!! I have been able to POUR HIS love over her without pushing. She is asking for more!! I am at peace that He will complete the good work He has started in us and each of our loved ones.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 "Brothers who are beloved by God, we know that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction— just as you know we lived among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit, in spite of your great suffering."

Ministry Note:

Sweet Lota, what a JOY it was to read your PR. It’s uncanny, but yet not at all surprising that it was just yesterday when I had a conversation with my son, that I’d explained how misguided evangelism and being “saved” has been portrayed in the church. That it isn’t us who saves, it’s He who does it, and that it won’t really happen until the person finds a huge need in their lives—usually a crisis. I told him it’s why we see so many lives radically changed because women’s hearts are broken. Only then are their hearts open to Him.

It was then that he mentioned something he’d heard, a statistic about pastors who when polled stated that if they could find another job that paid the same, they’d leave the ministry. I told him that even if I wasn’t paid, I would pay to do what I do, to be a part of working for Him and that if I stopped, I’d be lost, desperate—my life would be worth nothing. He replied that’s how all people in the ministry should feel.

I’m so thankful (a word that cannot measure the depths of my gratitude) to work with women like you, Lota, and all the others we associate with—let alone to be here to introduce them to the Love of their Life—just as you were able to do with your mother. It’s clear that your mother’s health is not in any danger, but it was used for good to allow her to meet her Lover and how this will transform her and all those who will be witnessing her transformation.

This is what witnessing means!!!!!!!!!
