My Heart was Deviated

“Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end will be very great.” Job 8:7 ESV

Beloved ladies

I regret posting this praise report so late, for His mercies are renewed every morning, but I have been slow to write it in time. However, He remains faithful and He never forgets me… That is my true fortune.

Today I want to praise my Heavenly Father for His infinite goodness, love, and mercy. He loves me with everything, and despite my imperfection, the foolish words I said against motherhood in my youth, my negative thoughts, my tendencies to avoid pregnancy, and even my wrong heart about leaving “everything” for children and other things… I have been given the gift, the reward, and the blessing of being a mother.

This testimony began several days ago during the time of my pregnancy. I prayed and believed that He would be with me from beginning to end until the moment of delivery. I read the ministry’s suggested resources and embraced His promises, those words that made sense at this particular moment. When the time came, I showed up at the clinic for a checkup, but that morning He told me in my heart that I would have to stay after the appointment… Just as it happened. At the checkup with the specialist, he performed an ultrasound of the baby and me, and again, discouraging words appeared regarding the baby’s growth. So, sitting in the waiting room with God, I talked to Him, shedding tears of gratitude but also of fear. These are words no one wants to hear…

My Beloved Husband never abandoned me. He was always there. I marveled at the words of encouragement sent to me by friends who didn’t know I was there at the clinic. Only God could have given them that feeling! How else could they know! I’ve learned not to tell anyone, not to go to anyone, not to turn to anything, only to Him.

Long hours passed waiting: I prayed, talked to Him, read His Word, listened to music, repeated His promises over and over again, which I have written down in a notebook that belongs to both of us, and reread them… He knew I needed to be quiet. I was beautifully surprised with a promise:

Job 8:7 ESV
Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end will be very great.

Who else but He knew about such a small, insignificant, and insufficient (in medical terms) initial state? Furthermore, it was necessary to receive such a word, and later I would find out why.

Praise Him who, knowing my fears, needs, and weaknesses, has the right Word. At that moment, I was naturally afraid, but I chose to trust and move forward. I couldn’t silence the medical words in my mind, but I could choose what to do with them. I said, “The doctor says this, but I believe in what you say is and will be.” I think that helped me release myself into His arms.

I spent that night in the hospital completely isolated. How wonderful it was to be without my cell phone that night. I only kept in my heart what He had told me. And contrary to everything, I was able to sleep and rest in Him.

The next morning, March 4th, I was induced into labor. For me, it wasn’t just another day on the calendar. That same day, two years ago, I was also in the hospital in the emergency room for bleeding during my second pregnancy, which resulted in a miscarriage. It wasn’t a coincidence!! It was His mercy. He was going to erase that sad date from my memory with the welcome of my third baby…

Words can’t explain or express enough what I experienced that very day. A roller coaster of emotions… I thought it would be a supernatural birth because that’s what I truly believed. However, He does as He pleases.

First, I clung to the idea of a supernatural birth. Then, I believed in freedom from the medical diagnosis for my baby and wanted a “superior” experience… But what He showed me was that my heart was off track: I wanted more of what He could do than Himself. Consequently, the birth wasn’t supernatural, not because He wasn’t capable or willing to give it to me, but because I desired it more than Him, which is why He denied it to me this time. I clung to what He could do, not His love. That’s why my heart hurts more than my body…

I learned so much from His mercy. In the midst of my weakness, He stayed with me. In the midst of physical pain, He has been my shield. In the midst of circumstances, He has been the comfort of my soul. And even though I failed, He did not leave. I praise Him because even though I experienced considerable pain, holding the baby in my arms allowed me to literally shout “Praise You” and realized that He is superior in all things. I also praise Him because, indeed, my started small, but as the days passed, he has grown stronger, and I still believe He is a wonderful and perfect creation, with the accurate size and shape He knew I could bear to pass through the birth canal, and that I could endure.

He is worthy of being exalted. He knows my heart. He knew I was not ready in my spirit, and even though a cloud of confusion tried to obscure the fact that He was in control, I shook myself off and began to list the blessings.

Beautiful ones, I encourage you to seek Him for who He is and not for what He has to offer or give us. Today I know that my heart has returned to that safe place, that I have resolved to love Him and continue to know Him, and that no matter what I do or don’t do, His love is endless, infinite, and real.

  1. Dear Mia,
Your testimony arrives at the right time, I understand that I must not want more than him in his way of doing things, since it is he who directs. We just have to hold his hand and trust him.
I praise our beloved, it was a good time to write it. πŸ’•

    1. Sweet Ednah

Praise God for His perfect timing! I thought it was late but He knows the exact moment for each thing.
While reading your post this comes to my mind for you and for me https://loveatlast.org/living-lessons/w80-god-directs/
Let’s have our coffee by reading and meditating on it. ☺️

  2. I was so moved to read this praise report. It deeply touched me.

First of all, I praise our Heavenly Husband because you can now hold your baby in your arms, and because, in His infinite love for you and your little one, He planned and orchestrated everything so beautifully! He is amazing!

But your testimony stirred many things within me. After having two boys, I became pregnant with my daughter β€” but she wasn’t β€œplanned”! As if I could plan anything! What foolishness when I think back on it!

    And I didn’t want to keep her… Double foolishness, such a mistake…!!!
But God, who knows everything, protected this little one from my selfishness, and I had my daughter.

When she was born, it felt so obvious β€” as if she had always been there.
I praise God for her life, and above all, because He forgave me and did not count that sin against me.
He showed me that He forgives me even when I stray from Him, and most importantly, that I need Him every single moment of my life.

    1. My dear
      The enemy has been defeated!!
I praise the Lord with you. Reading your comment, my Beloved has placed two thoughts in my heart. First, by repeatedly confessing, you free yourself and remove that oppressive burden. No matter how great or small your weaknesses, faults, and iniquities are, for Him, they are all the same size. I sincerely believe that in some way we have all “played God” by wanting to “plan” how many, when, and how to have the number of children we “want,” and we have “achieved” this (if it can be called an achievement) through contraceptive methods that are actually abortive. And this makes me think of a subsequent praise.
But my point is that the enemy will always want to accuse you, whisper lies in your ear, blame you, and remind you of incorrect thoughts. While your Beloved always has mercy and compassion on you. All He can think about is how much He loves you and your sweet baby, and because of His immense love, He has forgotten our offenses. You are free!
I celebrate that by telling/confessing it, you take the weight off the accusation.
And the second thing that comes to my mind is all the Truth we need to declare about our children. It is never too late or too early to say about them what HE says they are. The accuser will always try to disguise, alter, or undermine our children’s beginnings. The circumstances of their beginnings don’t matter; what matters is what we can do, say, declare, and believe about them right now.

Dearest, I encourage you to continue seeking His truth about your sweet little girl. I bless her and embrace you with these words.

  3. I praise the Lord for being present in our lives to encourage us, support us, and reveal what is in our hearts. He helps us grow and encounter Him in each of the stages He allows us to go through. I praise Him because I can see how much my nephew has grown and how healthy he is. God is faithful, and I definitely believe in His promise: His end will be great!

I remember that in disappointing moments, I might tend to accuse the Lord of being unfair or of failing me by not giving me what I wanted. But I’ve realized that He has reasons and plans, and I won’t always understand everything. However, I can still be thankful for all the good and trust that everything works for the good of those who love Him.

  4. ‘Neither height nor depth nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
    Romans 8:39

Mia, what a beautiful praise, and nothing can separate us from His love, from His protection. Many times I did things according to my own will, but He has shown me that He is the one who knows, the one who can guide us, and even when we are afraid, He removes it and shows us His power.
And now your baby will be big and strong, because Our Beloved watches over him.
    A hug, beautiful Mia.

    1. What a lovely blessing! Dear Liza thanks for your words. I can trust Him definitely and I know this:
