My Son had been Planning to Take his Life

I am thankful to my HH because he saved my son's life from the path of self-destruction he was on. When my EH left our son was 12 years old and he was very hurt and angry. He would be disruptive in school getting 17 or more referrals a year, along with detention. The school brought in counselors to help him, nothing worked. I had to remove him from school. At home was worse, he would lash out at me break things, steal, etc. As a parent, I was so lost and overwhelmed.

My son was put in behavior programs with no good results. I would pray and cry out to my HH and I felt lead to to seek medical attention because my son expressed that he needed to talk to a psychologist. It took me months of agonizing over this to make the decision to go. I know My beloved is the mighty counselor and I felt I would be betraying My HH but I also know we should be agreeable, so I took him and I found out my son had been planning to take his life and had attempted to. Several times he also had been using drugs heavily since his dad left trying to cope with the separation. He was hospitalized for weeks and I had to take him to counseling but I wasn’t happy about it my son didn’t want to hear anything about God because he felt God didn’t answer any of his prayers. The counselor was telling him how selfish his dad is and he only cared about himself, which is contrary to Ephesians 6:2-3, “Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.” I knew this was not right because the ministry talks about the dangers of counseling. I felt backed in a corner.

In June my son left home while I was at work. I thought he had run away. After 3 days my heart was heavy, I fell on my knees and I broke. I cried out so loud all night. The next day I found my son beaten so badly I almost didn’t recognize him. He left home with some people I didn’t know and because he wouldn’t join their gang they held him hostage and tortured him. My heart was so broken I didn’t understand why my Beloved allowed these things to happen but I told him I trusted Him. I knew something good had to come from all this pain. I felt like this was a bad dream and no one would believe all this.

Three months ago it all came to a head. He is sixteen with guns in the house and that was the last straw. I told him he couldn’t live with me anymore and I didn’t care what happened. I gave it all to God because He is his Father. My son put himself in a program and after a few days they put him out. The psychologist said he would no longer see him that it was a waste of time. PTL then things started to turn around. My son realized the world wasn’t going to tolerate him and his ways.

The people who hurt him is behind bars and my son said God did hear him and thanked God. My son stopped doing drugs. He is in school to get his GED and he is doing better. I asked my son to call his dad and check on him because he wanted to talk to his dad but he was afraid to call him. I told him to ask God what to do, so he did talk to his dad and they have been spending time together. Another prayer answered.

I want to thank the ministry team for responding to my prayer request and praying for my family. I must give honor and the glory to our Heavenly Husband no one can compare to Him and his Love for Brides. The scriptures tell us children are a gift from God we must pay close attention to them. Sometimes our trials absorb us and it easy to lose sight of the important things in this life and to put God first and take good care of the gifts he gives us because they are his children too. I will not fear evil tidings because my heart is fixed on trusting in you Lord.

Dear brides always trust in our Beloved even when you don’t understand what’s happening His ways are higher than ours and so is His thoughts. What’s meant to harm you, HH will turn it for your good.

Philippians 4:7 New International Version (NIV) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
