No Place to Judge

For many years I did not know the word concerning honoring your parents so I am sad to say I did not give my parents the honor and respect, they deserved due to what I thought they had done wrong. Now I realise I really had no place to judge and add to the bad things my siblings and I said about my parents and judging how they lived their lives.

Matthew 15:4 “For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.”’ This verse is a very serious warning about how we treat and speak to our parents.

I always knew that the word of God said we have to honor our parents but I don’t think I really knew to what extent. This Chapter 13 “If You Love Me” helped me to renew and refresh my mind with what the word of God says concerning honoring our parents. I spent some time with Him just speaking to Him about this chapter. I remember asking Him about the 2nd time I read this chapter to show me what I needed to know regarding this chapter and He brought up a situation with my mum-in-law. I thank and praise Him as I could speak to Him about it and He could lead and guide me. He worked it all out and my EH “earthly husband” and I were able to give my mum-in-law the honor and respect she deserved as a mother by not giving our opinion of we thought. It is only due to Him allowing me to read this chapter at the perfect time!

It’s so very easy to voice our opinion or to say things about a parent that we’ve heard from another family member or something that we know they are doing that is contrary to the word of God. What the Lord showed me is by speaking out about what I have heard I just worsen and bring apathy which is not honoring to a parent. I have learned that it is better to take what I want to say to my HH “Heavenly Husband”. And you know what? He is just so faithful because a situation which could ultimately lead to disrespect and badmouthing of a parent was turned around by just having read this chapter and speaking to Him about it…

For many years I did not know the word concerning honoring your parents so I am sad to say I did not give my parents the honor and respect, they deserved due to what I thought they had done wrong. Deuteronomy 5:16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you” Honoring your mother and father comes with a blessing!

Have you also been unknowingly disrespectful and failed to honor your parents? Then please pray with me: My Love please make the changes in me so that I can be the daughter you called me to be for my parents and in-laws. So that I can show them the honor and respect that your word has called me to show. Give me more wisdom regarding what I have read so that I can put it into practice. I want to be closer to you and have a deeper intimacy with you, my Love. Thank you for always leading and guiding me into your truth. Continue to do that in my life.

Dear Brides: Each and every one of us has someone in authority over us and most of us have parents, husbands, and bosses. This Chapter 13 “If You Love Me” will help you to understand how to live in accordance with the word of God with those that are in authority over us. What I can say is that this chapter will help you to take a good look at how you are living with those in authority, but it also comes with a Blessing!!

This book covers many areas and aspects of your personal life and most of all teach you how to put the word of God into practice. Psalms 1 says that the man who meditates on His word will be like the tree planted by the stream that bears fruit in season and whatever He does He prospers! I have personally seen in my life that living out His word has brought me to a place of prosperity and abundance and I am truly Living the Abundant Life.
