RESTORED Marriage Testimony: “Healed, Healthy, Whole and RESTORED!!”

Katie, how did your restoration actually begin?

Thank you so much, my Heavenly Husband—I give you all the honor, Glory and Praise!

My restoration journey began the day my husband told me he no longer wanted to be married and that he didn’t love me anymore. That day, my mother introduced me to RMI, and I started reading your books and just looking to God for help, and that’s when I found my HH.

My husband came back, after being gone for just 6 weeks. It happened sooner than I expected. He was with another woman, but I didn’t really “know” until he came back and confessed to his adultery. My Beloved turned my husband's heart back toward Him! In the waiting, I was so well taken care of by My Beloved; He met all of my needs. Now that my husband has been back for about two weeks, I have struggled. I struggled with time with My Beloved and even just the balance of meeting his needs and my children’s needs. I’ve cried out to My Beloved constantly because I feel like giving up--especially when I think of my husband's body being with another woman

Thankfully, by discovering this amazing ministry on the day my husband told me that he no longer loved me, I was able to fully give myself to my HH with no reservations. I allowed Him to keep testing my heart, as much as He needed, so that I could be complete in Him because I didn’t know how incomplete I was—even before I knew my marriage was in trouble.

I want to encourage you ladies. Our Maker wants to meet our needs; He wants to pour into us for His glory, for the sake of others around us, including our husbands. The tests have become harder, now that I’m restored, but I just keep seeking His face, asking Him to guide me and fill me up. I recognize now that there is nothing I can do without Him. John 15:5: “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

How did God change your situation, Katie, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?

Once I was able to just look to God for restoration, I saw how He began moving in my husband's heart. He set divine appointments for my husband and filled him with conviction. That was all happening while I was just going to my HH to meet my every need. This included being a Father to my children--at that time I struggled with them. When I struggled with their behavior, I would just ask my Beloved, since He as their Father would help them behave, and He did!

What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Katie, did the Lord teach you during this trial?

He taught me that He is my Husband, that He protects me, rescues me, and that my sense of security should only come from Him. I learned that He, and only He, is able to meet our every need and that our husbands are a great bonus, but our HH should be our main source!

What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Katie?

The nights were so hard for me. I do not like sleeping alone, just wondering what my husband was doing and if he was being unfaithful. I didn’t learn of his adultery until he returned, although, of course, I had an idea, I didn’t confront him about it. I would just ask my Beloved that if He would just hug me and let me feel His love, that if I could just see His face, I could make it through anything. Proverbs 3:24 says, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” My Beloved was always faithful, and I could always feel His perfect Love and Peace. He would always give me new promises, as I read His Word.

Katie, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?

The turning point is when I finally let go. That week, my husband went to see his sister out of state. She’s a Believer and was always hopeful that God would restore our marriage. That is where God showed up! My husband confessed his sin to his family first, and they prayed for him. My husband said that is when he felt the presence of God for the first time in a long time. The same night that was happening several states away, I was at home praising and worshiping my Beloved. My HH told me that I should start praising Him and worshiping Him as if my marriage had already been restored.

Tell us HOW it happened, Katie. Did your husband just walk in the front door? Katie, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?

The night I was praising my Beloved, I knew my husband was going to stop by the next day to see my kids, once he arrived from the airport, because he had let me know. But then he had told me he would stop by later in the afternoon. That morning, he texted me early and asked if he could come over because he “wanted to talk.” I wasn’t sure what about, because I didn’t want to get my hopes up and discover that he wanted a divorce, but I was ready after reading Facing Divorce Again

I was surprised how quickly he rushed over and began confessing all of his sins. As he was pouring his heart out, I was filled with this supernatural peace! I wasn’t upset or hurt—I just knew that my husband needed to feel our Father's, unconditional love. My husband mentioned that the way I had been treating him, while he was gone and would come to visit the children, was truly demonstrating the love of God. I had won him without a word and with a gentle and quiet spirit. I am so thankful; the contentious woman is gone!

Did you suspect, or could you tell you were close to being restored?

I knew my husband's heart was softening towards me because he was more friendly and would talk to me a little more. But I didn’t think my restoration would happen so soon. My husband was gone for 6 weeks. My husband would contact me every day. It didn’t feel like he was pursuing me, because he was just asking about bills, asking about the kids, but he would still try to contact me every day. I will say the most difficult part is him actually being home again.
