She Called Him “Daddy” Instead of “Father”

β™• Today's Promise: "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

Matthew 19:14 (NASB) But Jesus said, β€œLet the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

I get this verse now :). I was reading my bible one evening and I told the kids that while I am reading they can go ahead and listen to the story on the bible app for kids on my phone.

But they said they wanted me to read to them from my bible. I was busy reading Kings at the time so I told them I am not sure if this would be interesting to them but I will read to them.

As I was reading we started discussing how the Kings did not always follow the law and then we came back to how this is the reason that the Lord had to come because God saw that we were not going to get this on our own.

This started a discussion between me and my girl which I just have to share with you. She asked me if I think that the Lord feels sad when we talk about Him dying for our sins. I said no, in fact I believe He is very glad He made the sacrifice so we could be with Him in Heaven one day. He made this sacrifice because He loves them [my children] more than even me and their dad could love them.

Then she asks, well if He loves us more than you do, does that mean He is my Father. I said yes, that is why the Lord taught us to pray: "Our Father who art in Heaven".

Then she asked if He would mind if she called Him "Daddy" instead of "Father". I said that I believe He would actually love that and I was very close to tears with these discoveries she was making on her own.

Now, comes the wow moment. After mulling this over for a while she asks me, so if He is my Daddy, does that make Him your Husband? Can you believe it?? Yes, that makes Him my Husband. My son agreed that this must be true, her logic was flawless and satisfied, they went to sleep :).

As I was lying in bed still flabbergasted I realized, it took my 10-year-old daughter all of 10 minutes to get to the conclusion that took me 35 Years to discover. And I had to go through so many trials to find this truth that my daughter just worked out in her head.

A chapter in the bible I thought would be boring for my children turned out to be a revelation to all of us. Words are just not enough and never will be to describe how totally awesome my Heavenly Husband and my children's Daddy is :).

I am reminded of this verse:

Hebrews 4:12 (NASB) "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12 (TPT) "For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts."
