β Today's Promise: "I pray that God, the source of hope, will completely fill you with joy and peace, because you trust him. Then you will overflow with confident hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
~ Elisa in Brazil
This week I went through a situation with a friend that made me reflect a lot. In a conversation we had, she started talking about the difficulties we are living through, how difficult it has been to live in the middle of a pandemic, and all the negatives of today.
Interestingly, that day specifically I was a little down, so many things were going on but the Lord used this situation to remind me of all the reasons He gives us to be thankful!
"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I Thessalonians 5:18
I didn't even realize it initially but when I realized it there I was counting the blessings! And it was so exciting, for me and my friend. How many reasons do we have to thank and praise Him! In the midst of a pandemic we have been supported by our Beloved, He has protected us, fed us, taken care of us and met all our needs, not just material, but mainly taking care of our heart and our emotional needs!
All that discouragement I was feeling quickly disappeared and joy invaded our hearts, we couldn't stop smiling and thanking Him! It was a refreshing moment and a learning experience. We can't get discouraged and pay attention to the βnoisesβ out there, but our hearts must always be grateful regardless of the circumstances!
"Those who seek your help will be radiant with joy; not a shadow of shame will darken their faces." Psalm 34:5
