♕Today's Promise: “Cry to me and I will answer you and teach you great and hidden things that you do not know" Jeremiah 33:3
Carina, how did your Restoration Journey actually begin?
The Lord restored me first, I was a contentious, manipulative woman, I wanted everything to be done my way. I always wanted to win the discussions and the decisions were made by me.
How did God change your situation, Carina, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
My Lord showed me that as long as I didn't give my heart and my marriage to Him, nothing would change. I began by reading the bible, which I had never done before, marking the psalms that spoke to my heart, those that I knew were for me. From there I began to have peace in my heart.
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), did the Lord teach you during this trial, Carina?
His word encouraged me everyday and the verses that I always leaned on were these:
Psalm 126:5 "Those who sow with tears will reap with shouts of joy." Jeremiah 33:3 "Cry to me and I will answer you and teach you great and hidden things that you do not know." Psalm 91 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will dwell under the shadow of the Almighty."
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Carina?
The most difficult moment in this trial was when sister tried to find out if Loyd had another child. In this ministry they taught me that I should not believe the enemy. I asked my sister that if she found out the truth that she would keep it for herself because I did not want to know it.
Carina, what was the "turning point” of your restoration?
By the time my daughter got married, the hate wall was down and things got more friendly with Loyd. Without even speaking to each other first, the color of my dress matched the color of his tie. This was just one of many things that my Beloved used to show me that everything was on the right track.
Tell us HOW it happened, Carina? Did your Loyd just walk in the front door? Carina, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
By Christmas our relationship was even healthier, but nothing that showed that he intended to return home. One day my daughter calls me at work and tells me that her dad was home early. She said to me: “Mom, I think dad wants to come home”. When I arrived in the afternoon after work, he was still there. He then asked me if he could stay and I replied: “Of course, this is your home.” I had some idea that restoration was close, but I always left everything in the hands of my Heavenly Husband.
Would you recommend any of our resources in particular that helped you, Carina?
How God can and will restore your marriage was very helpful in my restoration journey. These verses from His word, was also helpful to encourage me every day.
Would you be interested in helping encourage other women, Carina?
Yes
Either way, Carina, what kind of encouragement would you like to leave women with, in conclusion?
Dear Brides, our Heavenly Husband loves us and it is Him that separates us from our earthly husbands for a short time to get our attention. He needs to be first in our lives and we need to be faithful to Him.
