RESTORED Marriage Testimony: “He Had the Last Word”

♕Today's Promise: “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

RMT PRAISE

Bernice, how did your Restoration Journey actually begin?

God bless you sister friends in Christ. My marriage restoration, I think, began when I began to believe in God instead of what my eyes saw, when I began to stop doing things on my own and let God take control. When I was no longer scared of what was happening at that moment because I knew that my almighty God had the last word.

How did God change your situation, Bernice, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?

Little by little my merciful God began to fill my husband, Caidan’s heart again with love for me and our children. As I said in one of my praise reports, He was filling my life with that peace that surpasses all understanding! To Him be all the glory and all the honor!

What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), did the Lord teach you during this trial, Bernice?

Although there were many things that I learned and continue to learn through this ministry. One of the parts that had the greatest impact was where it talked about the contentious woman versus the woman who speaks kind words. The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish destroys it with her own hands. To be careful of what comes out of my mouth to pray before making a decision. To run into the arms of my Lord before anything else.

What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Bernice?

The fact that it was 4 hard months since Caidan practically disappeared, he changed his phone number which he never gave me; I think one of the most difficult moments was when I found out that my he was with another woman. But the Lord in His mercy helped me.

Bernice, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?

After 4 months Caidan called, after not talking and not seeing each other he called me and we talked a lot about future plans etc. My God is faithful. I know it is His love and mercy that started making the changes.

This moment was when Caiden came home for a few days because he had to have an operation on his knee but he made it very clear to me that he would only stay until a couple of days after the operation and then he would return to the room where he had moved. I thought this was the end since I felt that he no longer liked being with us

Tell us HOW it happened, Bernice? Did Caiden just walk in the front door? Bernice, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?

I want to thank my good and merciful Father for everything He has done for me even when I don't deserve it. I want to thank Him that He begun to fill our marriage with hope. After 4 months my husband called, after not talking and not seeing each other he called me and we talked a lot about future plans etc. My God is faithful. I want to thank my Lord, because although the process has not been easy, He has taught me to bow down to Him! I know it is His love and mercy that are making the changes. I love my blessed Father is His name today and always.

Even though Caiden's return was a bit sudden, it was a painful process. He would come home but he would return to the place where he had moved. I already knew that the Lord was testing my patience and I learned to wait on him. After being at home for reasons of an operation on his knee, his plan was to leave as soon as he recovered, but my God's plan was different. God's mercy made Caiden stop leaving and he told me that he would stay in our house. Forever.

I suspected but in reality I gave myself so much to God's plan that I preferred not to think about it but to wait for the Lord's time

Would you recommend any of our resources in particular that helped you, Bernice?

The courses in the book were and continue to be of enormous help before and during our restoration.

Do you have favorite Bible verses that you would like to share with the women who read your testimony? Or promises that He gave you?

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

Would you be interested in helping encourage other women, Bernice?

Yes

Either way, Bernice, what kind of encouragement would you like to leave women with, in conclusion?

Don't look at your situation! No matter what you see or hear, you still believe in the Lord! Be obedient to His word and don't lose faith! Ask that He renew your mind, your faith and that His mercy reaches your home! He is faithful and does not fail.

Blessed be my Lord for having chosen me to serve Him! Praised be His Holy Name because I asked Him for strength and He renew it day by day! I want to thank Him because He fill my life with that peace that surpasses all understanding! O my soul, praise the Lord! Blessed blessed are the Lord today and always! I want to thank my King my God! The only King of everything and everyone! To Him be all the glory and all the honor.
