GOD MADE THE WAY (AS HE ALWAYS DOES)

When I first found out that my son was disabled (because of a stroke before birth), it was devastating news and I didn’t know how I was going to do it on my own and how God will use it for the good. But I didn’t do have to do it on my own, God was always and is always just there.

Well my son has been competing for a place in the South African team to compete for the disabled team and today he came home with the awesome news that he was one of the four kids of his school that was chosen for the team.

And to think my dream for him was just to finish school in a normal school (I was so wrong and God really had to change my heart). I remember when a private school said they can’t help him any more and that I must put him in the disabled school because they would be more able to help him. I cried and begged God and had to put him on a waiting list by the new school (because there you have to go through tests and you are on a long waiting list). When we went to the school because I had to go and see if the school had space because the private school could only help him till the end of the year, I was walking in the hallway when I said well if God wants him in this school God will make a way. When the administrative lady saw me, she said she was trying to contact me and that a new class was opened. When I saw a teacher that had previously been by the private school (but went to this school because she said that is where her heart was and where God led her), she said she didn’t understand how they could make a new class with the little bit older kids and that they needed more classes for the younger kids, I just said well God wanted my son there and space.
My child was approved and that next year he went for a very huge operation and had to be in a wheelchair and the school helped me so much and it would have been so difficult in the private school. There was just always somebody to push him, there are nurses on the school grounds, which also helped al lot. Everything just fell into place because God had a plan and even the school work was less, so we didn’t struggle so much, God really used the school to make my life easier.

I remember sitting in the parking lot waiting for my son and looking at the disabled kids, some not being able to speak but their smiles spoke more than any words could (and yes I was crying because I was the one God had to change and not my son).
I sat there and said to God, I just feel here we can make a change and it is where my son had to be and even the teachers come so many times and say they enjoy having him in their classes.

Today I want to give God all the glory that my son was chosen for their athletics team, it’s all because of God, my children’s Heavenly Father being side by side by him.

THANK YOU MY HEAVENLY HUSBAND, I LOVE YOU!!!

  1. Wow so great Janine, how your HH lead you to place your son on a school that is so good for him. You know what, that’s how He shows how much He loves you and your son. Our Man wants the best for us. And He alone knows what is best. Sometimes I still struggle when I have to make a decision that I don’t think will fit or work at all. But He does know. And when we let go He can work for us and we got something much better than we could do in our own. The thought of your son’s Heavenly Father are higher and better which will make us really happy. Your son will have a great time at that school and be a beautiful testimony to his Father and Best Friend.

    1. I also still struggle dear Kristine, I laugh at myself, I struggle, then when I’m tired of struggling I say God please take over and when He does, He does the best way and His ways and plans and just everything is the best, but I know He is teaching me to just let go from the start in very area of my life.

  2. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful testimony! My eyes are filled with tears reading your praise Janine especially this part “I was crying because I was the one God had to change and not my son”. Thank you for reminding us that it’s us that He wants to change and work in and through. He is the Potter and we are the clay in His hands.

    1. Dear Liora
I always prayed for my son’s healing and not asking maybe here is a bigger purpose and there is but we have such a loving Heavenly Husband that shows us so gentle that He is the Potter and we are the clay. And realize now it’s many time the letting go part we actually struggle with because I want to.be in control and then I any way mess up, but again He teaches us so lovingly.

  3. WOW, so beautiful!!!! The beauty of this journey is the surprises He gives us!!! Because He always takes us further, gives us much more than our heart dreams and desires for us and our children!! Thank you dear Janine for sharing your amazing praise report with us!

    1. So true dear Elisa, He surprises us so many times and we can just relax and stop trying to take control and stop worrying.

  4. My dear Janine you just made me cry tears of happiness reading your praise! HH made a class for him when there were no space, and now he got selected for the team! Our Husband is just so amazing in all He does and how He already knew what was best for your son and where he needed to be! And yes, sometimes, or most of the time :), its our hearts that must be changed. And nothing is impossible with God!!
