Praise even through the Storms

I just wanted to come here a moment and say, I have been believing for my HL to help with my debt and I was just re-reading Chapter 9 Give of the FAL. https://loveatlast.org/finding-the-abundant-life/chapter-9-give/ when I get a text from my middle child that he thinks the water has been shut off. On my lunch break, I log in to my water account and notice it has been disconnected for non payment. I start to panic a tiny bit and then just said to myself” It’s okay, my HL is my provider, and He says he’ll take care of me”. Then that got me thinking of the Prison to Praise book I had read once. So, I just started praising Him for my water being shut off. I don’t know why it’s happening yet, but it must be for a great reason that He would let it happen. I also ended up using my credit card and praised Him that I had to use it, even though my prayers have been to get them paid off and get out of debt. I praise Him and know his way is better than mine and even though my water is shut off until they can come turn it back on and I had to use my credit cards, something good is going to happen.

β€œFor my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8 NIV

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.” Psalm 18:2 NLT

  1. Oh my dear, thank you so much for sharing this praise. πŸ’— Yes, He has it all under control. Nothing happens without Him. I love Prison to Praise. If you have not already, I will encourage you to read Poverty Mentality, it was really a good course/book for me to go through because I was in a huge financial mess that I of course caused myself, but He has blessed me so much over the years that I am almost debt free!!! There are so many testimonies of how He provided for me over the years when at times I was wondering where our next meal will come from. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

    1. I will have to go back and read your testimonies (if you’ve posted them) Its very inspiring to hear what He is doing in the lives of other brides especially when they have been in a similar boat.
I have printed and read up to chapter 4 of Poverty Mentality and I have learned some great lessons from it so far.
      Thank you so much.

  2. Well done YOU. praising him in the midst of these unexpected, unforeseen and unimaginable trials… Mini crisis actually will open the prison doors of fear and death, and every other malady, dearest, Hope.

We want to encourage you to remember that, rather than talking to yourself about what your heavenly love is about to do for you, why not speak to him directly. Don’t forget he is right there. Truly and incredibly right there and He would love to talk to you and assure you Himself.
Every day I have difficulty with one thing or another, and being the Gentleman that He is, and the Husband He loves being to me, I imagine Him setting me up very often just so He can be my β€œKnight in shining armor” and rescue me.
    Could it be.
Could it be He is setting you up, sweet Hope, in order to rescue you? I believe so. πŸ’—πŸ€—πŸ’—

    1. Erin, thank you for that reminder. I do need to remember He is not some far off God, He is right beside me. It definitely could be a set up πŸ™‚

“I surely rejoice in the Lord; my heart is joyful because of my God, because he has clothed me with clothes of victory, wrapped me in a robe of righteousness like a bridegroom in a priestly crown, and like a bride adorned in jewelry”. Isaiah 61:10

My favorite out of this verse is “wrapped me in a robe of rightousness”. I can just feel the comfort and love of Him wrapping his arms around me.

  3. Thank you Hope for this whole, whole, whole, encouragement. I was crying and talking to my HH before reading your praise about a situation that is going on in my life right now. But you reminded me of the book Prison of Praise. I read it and it helped me through my struggles immensely, I’ll just grab it off the shelf and read it again. Because even though I know it’s okay to cry, it’s better to start praising Him.

    1. Kristine, Im so glad He reminded you of Prison to Praise. I’ve only read it once but am going to read it again soon. If you’ve never heard the song Eye of The Storm from Ryan Stevenson, you should listen. I love to sing it out loud to Him (even though I am no singer haha).
