RYR – It’s all my fault

"He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, So that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; For by His wounds you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

One of the most powerful verses for me is this:
β€œHe HimselfΒ boreΒ ourΒ sinsΒ in His body on the cross,
So that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;
For by His wounds you were healed.”
1 Peter 2:24

While reading through this chapter (RYR 10 β€œIt’s All My Fault”) I was reminded I can never measure the amount of love our Heavenly Father has for us.

When you are assailed with evil, the Lord told us plainly, that we were not to resist it. And going beyond non-resistance, we were to bless. That is what the Bible tells us to do because something amazing happens: you live in peace. Inside and outside is peace with no trace of pain, or bitterness (which is pain that goes into your spirit). It is like a healing balm that I have learned to run to when anyone hurts me.
This week I will try not resist any evil, but give a blessing instead.

  1. Thank you for sharing this lesson as well as this reminder precious Elora, to not resist any evil. I just had a bad day yesterday at my outside job, so I know now this is my answer.

  2. I know it’s not always easy to resist the urge to fight back when someone hurts you, and sometimes I still fail but choosing to bless them instead can bring us peace. It’s like a balm that soothes your spirit.
