Believe on the Lord

“Believe on the Lord, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

I'm thrilled to share that I've got a double praise report. The first is another incredible blessing from God to our family! This time, He is restoring my brother's family and putting in their hearts the desire to be united by the sacred bonds of marriage. I can see this has brought joy to their faces and in my little nephew's attitude!

My boys and I have been faithfully praying for them to be united and now I rejoice since they are witnessing this prayer being answered.

In the last years, this relationship seemed far from being possible. The mother and my nephew lived in another country and hate seemed to be the core of their relationship. To all of us, it seemed hopeless! But God put in my brother’s heart the desire to be married.

In advance of the wedding date, my brother and soon to be sister-in-law, asked me to help them take wedding pictures! We went to the park, where there were beautiful autumn leaves of all colors on the ground and the sun was shining on everyone's faces! After a full afternoon of taking beautiful full-of-love pictures all over the park, I was so pleased to see that they were showing love in their eyes and their son was taking joy in that photoshoot as well. It was a great success but when we were about to leave the park, I realised that I had lost my gold earring (a gift from my spouse) somewhere in the leaves, in this huge park full of people. I didn't want to ruin that magical moment for my brother and his wife-to-be, but I was so so sad to have lost it. I was wondering why this perfect moment had to result in me loosing my favourite earing. I looked high and low for it and asked God to help me find it, thinking I would have a great testimony as it was obvious that I would NEVER find my earring again. But I didn't find it! I could tell my brother felt bad too but I didn’t want to ruin the special moment for him. At night, my son and I looked at the pictures I had taken and figured out the spot during the photoshoot where I had probably lost it. The next day, just before the end of the day, I decided to go back and look again. I brought both my sons to look for the earring at that specific spot. Just before starting to search, I hold their hands, and we prayed to God that He give us the eyes and patience to find the earring. We thanked Him in advance for helping us find it and for giving us a testimony of how He helps us in absolutely anything that we ask. As we were looking, it was really like finding a needle in a haystack: the younger one was on the ground, hands in the dirt searching with all his heart and soul. The oldest was sure we would not find it so he didn’t really bother looking carefully until I told him I would give a reward to whoever found it so he would be more encouraged to look around! As I was asking God out loud to help me, my oldest started asking out loud too and he then immediately found the earring! My sons were amazed and realised that this was obviously God. There's no way we could have found that earring in that huge park with all those leaves otherwise! We shared the news with everyone! Is in it incredible?! This is the proof that if He can help us in such futile things, how much more can He help in the most important aspects of our lives and mostly, He hears ALL of our prayers. All of them! I’m still amazed.

"And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." 1 John 5:15

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. . . . If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" Matthew 7:7-8
