Significance of the Wait

♕ Today's Promise: “If they hear and serve Him, they shall end their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.” Job 36:11

Dear Brides, you may be saying to yourself when? When will I see things change? When will I see things start to happen for me? When will I see that my prayers have not been in vain? And so on...as I read Finding the Abundant Life Chapter 5 "It’s SO Worth the Wait!" I was reminded of harvest. When we are trying to harvest something there are certain procedures we have to take in order to see the desired outcome of the flower or vegetable/fruit we have planted. We have to plant the seed in the soil. We have to water it daily. The sun has to shine and nourish the soil for the seed. In turn, we do these things trusting that what needs to happen, is truly happening under the soil, though we cannot see it. We are believing that the seed is receiving the water and the roots are starting to grow, setting the foundation for the plant to take root to hold up the weight of the plant. Within some time or designated time, the stem will start to burst through the soil. With more time, we will start to see the full harvest of the desired plant, flower or vegetable/fruit we have been waiting for.

This is the same with us and our promises. We have to pray every day to Him, planting our seed in the soil. We have to read His word daily, setting our foundations for our roots to take place. He has to be our Savior and we must TRUST everything that He promised us, allowing the Son to nourish our soul every day. We grow in our relationship with Him so intimately that our promise bursts through the soil. Coming into full alignment with His word, promises and will that we know in His appointed time, we will have our harvest and have a life more abundant.

I loved what was said in this lesson..."Understanding why we wait may be even more important than believing for the promise itself. Simply put, when God shows us something for the future, it is because we are not ready to deal with it, or to enjoy it fully, without this intended period of waiting."

The vision that our Heavenly Husband gives to us is a hope and a promise that we can claim and will have. The problem is that many of us tend to think that it means now which in turn can make it hard and many give up before they see it fulfilled because it has taken too long in their opinion. But through the wait and the journey to get to that promised vision is where the life-changing moments come. This wait, makes us appreciate the obtained promise and vision so much more because we had to go through the desert to get there. It wasn't just handed to us like we wanted or think we should have it, without pain or hurt or disappointment or rejection because we feel it is too much to take or handle. But our Heavenly Husband knows just how much we are able to handle and conquer, He created us. He uses everything and turns it for our good.

I have had many moments of fixating my eyes on the length of time of my journey. I struggled a lot with this in the beginning. I could not get the length of time going by out of my head. It was my downfall. I could not wait. I did not like having to wait or being patient regarding it. My heart was broken and crushed thinking about it. It was the distraction and downfall the enemy kept bringing me down with.

I now see that this time has been a blessing. For this time with my Heavenly Husband has been so rewarding. If I did not have this time, I would not have accomplished nor seen the miracles my Heavenly Husband has done in me. The secret and key to this journey is in the wait. Without this wait time, I would have missed out on some much strength, love, and intimacy with my Heavenly Husband, all of which is irreplaceable. I would not trade this wait time for anything for I know when the promises are fulfilled it is going to be worth every moment of time waiting.

I am going to take more time in the day to praise my Heavenly Husband. I am going to take more time to acknowledge and tell Him how much I need and want Him more every day. As I am reading my bible, I am going to receive every promise that He has made to me and know that this promise is all mine! I have already received, claimed and I will obtain it. I will not doubt it nor question if I had heard from Him correctly. The promise is already written in His word and He promised me it is mine!

It does not matter how big or small this "Goliath" or mountain may be in front of me. He is BIGGER and His promises are yes and amen. His word will not return to Him void. His word is active, alive and never fails. He is not a man to lie. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is faithful to fulfill His promises no matter how long it takes. The secret and key are to not quit before He fulfills that promise because of the lack of confidence of it coming to pass because of the length of time it has taken.

Let us take a bit of time now to pray, don't hesitate to tell Him what is on your heart and mind regarding your wait: Heavenly Husband thank You for reminding me that the wait, pain, trial, tribulation and crisis are going to be worth it. You are in control. You are turning these ashes into beauty. You are turning this all for my good. Thank You for the joy of the Lord is my strength and the wait is where the promises to come will be fulfilled. Thank You for every promise You have given me will be fulfilled in Your appointed time. Hallelujah! There is none like You, for Your promises are yes and amen. You are not man to lie for every word that You have said will not return void.

Dear Brides, though we want to have the answers to our prayers now because we don't want to hurt anymore, the pain is too much to bear, you will gain so much more during this time. We live in a life where everything is at our fingertips and we can get it now. We rarely have to wait. We have forgotten the importance and significance of the wait. Though during this time of waiting, we don't see it yet, it is the most amazing time. This time of wait you will declare and thank God for it. When you look back you will see that you appreciate everything that you obtained later so much more because you had to wait. The secret to your promise and success is in the appointed wait. Trust in Him and His timing, it is always perfect and always on time.

Our Heavenly Husband has an Ephesians 3:20 life for you. A life that is exceedingly, above and beyond what you can ever think of imagining. Our Heavenly Husband is the Creator, what we imagine, our biggest imaginations don't even come close to what He can do. Trust the process and know that you can take His hand and He will never steer you wrong. Touch His garment and you will be healed. Come and discover the life He truly wants you to have.

Then the LORD answered me and said, ‘Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 2:2-3

Writing out the vision and making it plain is an act of obedience and faith. It is taking that leap of faith that what He said He would do, He will do. He gives us visions to hold onto; to give us strength and hope so we can keep taking those mighty steps forward to that very moment, at that appointed time, when we will reach the Promise Land and walk in His promise.
