Heavenly Lord Made Sure Birth was in HIS Hands

This is a follow-up praise report about how He has blessed us during my daughter's pregnancy and delivery. This is a follow-up praise report about how He has blessed us during my daughter's pregnancy and delivery.
Our Heavenly Husband allowed for me to help my daughter, who was ill during her pregnancy (her soldier husband was deployed.) HH had begun to turn her heart toward Him, and He had restored her to good health. I had returned home with plans to come be with her before delivery.

It "just so happened" πŸ™‚ that I had to be in a town near my daughter a week before she originally planned for me to arrive. So, she agreed that I could come to her home early. My daughter liked to plan everything and control as much as possible (just like I had unfortunately modeled for her.)

I arrived early to find my daughter's feet, hands. and even her face was swollen. I took her blood pressure; it was high. Praying, I was led to take her to the hospital. She did this under protest--resisting things going against her plans. (She is a nurse also, and she knew she might have preeclampsia. Going to the hospital might cause her to end up with a c-section.)

We were blessed with a calm, older MD who did not over-react. We tested for proteins in her urine--negative--and the baby was healthy on the monitor, but both the MD and I felt something else was wrong, so she arranged tests and a return the next day. With strict guidelines and instructions, she sent us home. The results of those tests were normal, so my daughter was able to stay at home, resting, while I cooked and cleaned and did laundry. I also helped her get everything ready for the baby (while she lay on the couch directing me.)

I prayed, taking her health and the baby to Him, and her blood pressure stayed in an acceptable zone. My daughter prayed and was trusting and calm. Yet, frustrated, she began to fret over what was NOT going according to plan. (She had missed some events, and now she would not be allowed in the low intervention birth room, etc...) She was still resisting giving it all over to Him.

For another week, her blood pressure fluctuated. At her next appointment, the midwife sensed something wrong and repeated some tests. My daughter looked worse to my eyes, and the tests came back abnormal. My daughter was devastated. Even though her baby tested OK, she was upset that she was being admitted to the hospital and all her plans were amiss.

Admitted to the hospital, and scared, she turned to pray WITH me again. I prayed to give everything over to our Heavenly Lord. This drastic change helped my daughter realize that things were in HIS hands. They monitored the baby, who was fine. We continued to pray, and as they checked my daughter's blood pressure, it began to come down. Some of the swelling even improved. The baby looked great. The doctors were very surprised. So rather than being induced, the doctors contemplated waiting.

We prayed. My daughter was calm, but when my son-in-law was not able to get an earlier flight, my daughter began to fret again and complain about all that was happening...and her blood pressure began to rise. The doctors said we must induce her, and they began the steps. This helped my daughter to again pray, and to take everything back to our Heavenly Love. The baby continued to look great. Even while being induced, her blood pressure began to come down. The induction failed, and the doctors decided to give her uterus a rest, while watching her closely.
My youngest daughter was able to get a day off work to join us. She encouraged her sister to trust in God and prayed with us. We knew if the second induction did not work, a c-section would be required. My oldest finally said to her Heavenly Love, "Your will be done." The induction worked, and a beautiful baby girl was born only hours before her daddy arrived!

It seemed like the story of Moses raising his arms to God: when he got weary and they fell down, the enemy began to win. My youngest daughter and I felt like we were there to encourage and hold up my daughter's arms to the LORD...and the "battle" was won with a good outcome: healthy, precious baby girl, and mama trusting in the LORD!

And below eachβ€” what Truth He showed you and asked you to share as an Encouraging Woman.

" So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword." Exodus 17:10-13Β Β ESV

Remember, Matthew 7:13-14 tells us to β€œEnter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.”

And Psalm 100:4 tells us HOW to Enterβ€” β€œEnter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.”
