A Peaceful, Loving, Harmonious Home

Dear Brides, I pray that you are encouraged to center your hearts and homes around our Beloved, so you can experience the joy of His salvation in all that you do.

I chuckled when I read the title of this chapter as the oven and I have had a quite contentious relationship over the years.  I did not grow up cooking, in fact, I have set ablaze a many of kitchens by just boiling water. But, this just highlights the fact that with our Beloved all things are possible, and cooking is yet another area that we can turn over to Him and He can and will do the impossible!

“Her children rise up and bless her; her Husband also, and he praises her, saying: ‘Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all’” (Prov. 31:28–29).

This verse embodies the very essence of a peaceful, loving, harmonious home centered around His love and grace.  To have your children and husband rise with your praises on their lips means that by His grace and strength you have prepared a loving and nurturing home. This is truly a desire of my heart.

As a woman that has moved from navigating my career to exclusively staying at home to raise my children, the challenge in finding value in what I do is always ever-present. And nothing is more defeating and devaluing than preparing a meal that your children refuse to eat.

After reading this Week 12 Chapter 10. Making the Most of Meal Planning, I am encouraged to master the feat of cooking and preparing delicious meals for the family that I have been blessed to nurture.  While the task is daunting and at times can feel overwhelming, turning it over to Him and knowing that serving my family, is one of the greatest ways that I can express my love and fulfill the call that He has placed on my life.

In today's society, the value of a woman's worth is found in her contributions outside of her home. She is counted successful if she works tirelessly and selflessly to advance the mission, vision, and goals of corporate and entrepreneurial entities. However, this chapter has reminded me that worth and value can still be found in the contributions that women make at home. Mastering the feat of the oven becomes so much more beneficial when it is done while inspiring balance, peace, and harmony in your children and your home.

By taking the time to work with my Beloved in artfully preparing delicious meals for my family, I am teaching my children how to become fully dependent on Him for everything.  While also ushering them into wanting to develop a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.

Beloved, thank you for the opportunity to be a Worker@Home I pray that I am focused less on finding the value in what I do, and focused more on ensuring that I am providing value in the work that You have prepared for me. I pray that you continually transform my mind so that I am not tempted to conform to the patterns of this world, but instead relentlessly pursue that path that You have prepared for me.

This book provides an excellent foundation to prepare a home and reminds us that He will equip us with the necessary intelligence and resources to bring about the call that He has placed on our lives into fruition.
