All Children=Blessings Pt 2 πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸΌπŸ‘ΆπŸ½πŸ‘ΆπŸΎ

Children are a gift from theΒ Lord; they are a reward from him. Ps 127:3

Hi ladies! This is party 2 of 3 from my previous post months ago. https://homegrownministries.com/all-childrenblessings-pt1/

When my middle son #specialblessing started Kindergarten, he was very hyper and energetic, and the school considered moving him back to preschool, hoping he'd be calmer the following year and learn better. I spoke to his teacher and asked if he could stay in Kindergarten and repeat it the next year. She agreed but suggested I take him to his doctor for an ADHD evaluation. The results came back and we started him on ADHD meds which made him lose so much weight, he was not the same kid at all. Yes he didn't cause commotion and did stay in his seat but I did not like the way it made him. Now, on top of the epilepsy medicines we were testing to see what worked for him, he was on more medications.

He was also tested by a psychologist and his IQ level is about 72-73 which brought his labels to about 3 diagnoses.

The Lord has blessed me, even though some thoughts still try and concern me, I know with God ALL things are possible. Andrew doesn't have many friends and talks a lot about getting married and having kids. He has some challenges. He doesn't know math well and is at a 3rd-4th grade level. He's not good with money. He reads at a 10-year-old level, I don't know if he'll ever be able to live independently but he dreams of a big two-story house and a Dodge Ram truck πŸ™‚ On the other hand, God often gives us our heart's desires. He's also pretty self-sufficient and can stay home by himself for hours. He can make simple meals and graduated from high school last year. He's signed up for a program that helps special needs children and adults find jobs. He told me a few months ago that he didn’t know if he should be baptized because God probably doesn’t like it when he sometimes gets mad while playing games and thinks of saying "not so nice" words.Β  I told him he did not have to feel pressured to but that I was going to get re-baptized on June 1 (due to me being so young and not remembering it). He went to the river location with us and when I asked him to get my phone and take the video for me, my mother, and his little brother, he said he wanted to go out in the water with us and be baptized. πŸ’•

Thanks for reading. Stay tuned for part 3 or 3.

  1. Aaaaaaah Hope thank you for sharing about Andrew. l loved reading what you shared. l also had some challenges with my son during his 1st years of school and even though l wanted to homeschool him myself HE had other plans and it didn’t turn out that way. my eh heard about a lovely very small and homely homeschooling school. l spoke to HIM for many years and never sent my son for the testing they asked for. It turned out he just needed individual attention and just needed to repeat the grade which he is doing at the moment and doing so much better.

l love that Andrew wants his own home and family. He sounds like a very special young man and we know that God has amazing plans for his life far beyond what society deems is necessary for success because HE gives us our God given talents and abilities and places us exactly where we need to be πŸ˜ƒ

  2. Oh how precious that he got baptized as well. As I was reading this, it reminded me of how different we all are, how as believers we are not of this world any longer. how we don’t fit in but we now live in this new super natural reality, freely given wisdom and understanding. Your precious son will be able to receive those beautiful blessings that He pours on all His children and walk in eternal security and peace. No man can give what He gives and He can bring your son to places he desires. like a house with a Dodge ram!

  3. Hope what a truly moving blog. I have difficulties with my 3 year old son who doesn’t speak very well and I never gone to see a doctor for a diagnosis. When I read Yvonne’s blog about her son I refused to go and I started to put my faith in our darling because I know that he will do everything.
By reading your blog and discovering how our beloved darling has worked in your son’s life, I expect him to do the same for my son.

  4. Thank you for sharing precious Hope, this is so special.
In my son’s life the doctors gave so many diagnoses but then his Heavenly Father steps in and does for him what doctors said he wouldn’t be able to do, like being in a wheelchair and now he competes in athletics against our whole country and that is just proof Who has the last say – I just love love love what our Darling Lord does. And I am excited to the testimonies that are still going to come and what He is going to do in your son’s life, because that is just Who our Darling Lord is.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing Hope. Your strength and faith going through the process really ministered to me, I think I would be discouraged with all. But is so great to see that you and your son seems so peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing, really comforting and hopeful. Excited to read the next chapter too.
