♕ Today's Promise: “‘Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,’ said Jesus. ‘The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.’” Matthew 17:20

Dear Brides, because of the nature of this chapter [Final Hurdle] the author did not want to add it to this book [Moving Mountains], but I am so thankful she did. I was so blessed by this chapter. Come read it and see why.
I need to go back a bit to let you know what this lesson meant to me. A while ago the Lord has been speaking to me about fasting. Now, you will say this lesson has nothing to do with fasting, well hold on a minute, I will get there. I had it in the back of my mind but I wasn't seriously considering it. I have not fasted in a while.
Then a specific verse kept coming to mind that was in Mark where He healed the demon-possessed boy and the disciples asked Him why they were not able to drive the demon out and Jesus told them that this kind can only be cast out by prayer and fasting. This is Mark 9.
That verse has stuck with me for a few weeks now. Back to this last week. I was reading my lesson [Final Hurdle] the first time and when I did the second time, I wanted to see the key verse “Because you’re not yet taking God seriously” — Matthew 17:20 in my bible as I often do. Just to find that it was the exact same healing, but just in Matthew!
Now coming back to the lesson, I am not sure that I am brave enough to ever do what the Lord called Michelle to do here, but hopefully, I will never be called to that.
What this lesson taught me was not what Michelle did, but that there was a final hurdle to overcome. I do believe in my case the Lord is calling me to prayer and fasting.
I was fasting this weekend and wow, was it hard to do, but after my fast, I felt wonderfully connected to the Lord again. I felt like I was drenched in His love and peace and I realize that this is something I need to do more often.
I will keep on SG (seeking God) and knowing that He may call me to things that my flesh does not want to do, but obedience to Him is much more important than doing what FEELS right. Of course, never do anything in contradiction with what is written in His word.
Dear Brides, every chapter has a lesson to learn and if you don't relate exactly to what the author is writing, let me tell you that it may be just a specific paragraph or the overall lesson that will speak to your heart and may change your life forever!!! It is certainly worth the read.
