The magnificent power of our Beloved never ceases to amaze me. Every time that I think that He has gone over and above for me, He shows up more, in ways unimaginable. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 ESV
For the past several months my EH and I have been petitioning our Beloved for a better employment opportunity for my EH. He works as an Operations Manager for a Sports Entertainment Company, which requires him to work very loooonnnggg nights and weekends. His shifts could range from 12 โ 18 hours, and he would come home so exhausted that he would just collapse on the couch. While we were thankful for this position, we were starting to feel the strain from his long hours and very limited pay, which robbed us of our joy. We were in constant prayer and wanted to ensure that we were on the path that our Beloved prepared for us. His word tells us that โThe blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.โ Proverbs 10:22 NIV
We were in pain. At least I was! I was constantly exhausted, overwhelmed, and just breathing felt like such a chore! On the days when my EH was off and the few hours he had to spare right before the start of his shifts, he was applying for every job that he felt he was qualified for. After interviews, โno thank yous,โ and a string of rejections he just began to feel really defeated. But, we all know that once you come to the end of yourself He is ready to step in and take control. My husband learned of a career fair and requested the day off so he could attend. He went in armed resumes and prayerful expectation that our Beloved would do something amazing. After a few hours of circulating among the booths, it became quite clear that the event was less of a career fair and more of an employer showcase with sponsored events for resume writing, interviewing tips, and the like for those transitioning from military service to civilian life.
My EH called and I could tell that he felt a little defeated and really sad. I said a little prayer for him and encouraged him by telling him that our Beloved is on our side and He will clear a path for him in His time. During our conversation, a Marine that used to report to him happened to walk by, they greeted each other, and I told my EH he could call me later and I would see him once he got home.
A few hours went past and my husband called me back to tell me that the Marine that he ran into worked for the FEMA and had recently gotten promoted, so there was a vacancy, and that my EH would be an excellent fit. It gets even better, my EH was introduced directly to the hiring managers, interviewed, and hired! His experience, coupled with his veteran status and years of service with the USMC gave him preference over other candidates. How awesome is our Beloved! He didnโt just stop there. My EH now has a daytime schedule where he is home by 4pm each day, he teleworks twice a week, and is off every other Friday! It gets even better! Since we live 5 minutes away from a subway train, he commutes into the city, circumventing traffic, and his job pays for it. Our Beloved is so awesome!!
I just want to encourage anyone reading my PR who is going through a hard time, to just press into our Beloved. Have faith and trust that He knows the plans that He has for your โplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.โ Your breakthrough is on the horizon and all that you are going through now will serve as a testament to help bring someone else to Him!
