βToday's Promise: "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:3-5
I've been asking my Heavenly Husband for a while now to please send me someone to encourage and minister to as I don't really go out much or meet new people because of the social distancing restrictions. Well He sent me someone not far from me, my very own niece.
So recently she has had troubles in her relationship with her son's father. She ended up leaving their home and coming to stay with us at my sisters house. Little by little I've been trying to point her to our Lord without being pushy. Everyday I tell her to pray and to give her life to the Lord. You see, my sister and her husband never really talked too much about God to their children. I mean they believed in Him but never really learned about Him. They went to church here and there but that's about it.
Well this evening I was sitting outside listening to one of Erin's Be Encouraged videos and out comes my niece to sit with me. She started talking about how she knew she had messed up in her relationship and how she feels like God is showing her her mistakes. She said she always blamed him for everything but now she is seeing things in a different light. I didn't even have to say much, she was clearly seeing what God was trying to show her. I agreed with her and told her about my shortcomings too in my marriage. I told her that God forgives her but to take it as a wake up call to turn to the Lord and make Him first in her life so He could change her.
I will minister to her as my Heavenly Husband leads me and I thank you my Lord that You have gotten my nieces attention and that You are calling her to You so that she can give her life to You. It was good for me to have been afflicted because it caused me to change so that I could minister Your word to her and be that wise woman for Your glory. Thank you Lord that You're changing our lives so that we reflect You and become the women You called us to be.
