โ Today's Promise: "Know now that the Lord hath set apart a saintly companion; the Lord hears when I cry to Him." Psalm 4:4
~ Kristine in the Netherlands
Dear brides, our Heavenly Father is wonderful and His love which He gives us, by giving us as brides to His Son, brings small but also great blessings. I will enter His gates with praises. And because of His love I would like to share with you the prayer He has answered.
My heart was filled with a lot of grief after I realized how much suffering I had caused my children with all the wrong things I had done when I was a huge quarrelsome woman. Letting go of control to want to steer everything and use my own justice, how I thought things can be changed has cost me a lot of tears. And still I struggle with it daily, but my Lord is gracious to help me when I ask.
The biggest worry I've had in recent months has been letting go of my oldest child. A beautiful girl, a young woman who is confronted daily with the wisdom, people and justice of this world. Now that I realize how much suffering and sorrow the wisdom and justice of this world inflicts on many women, I want nothing more than for my daughter to learn how to be a wise woman. While she waits for the husband our Lord has for her.
It has taken me some time to accept the forgiveness that my Lord has given me in His love. My desire that my daughter would not be the next to tear down her house with her own hands, but the next generation from which strong foundation marriages will emerge, has brought me to my knees to ask my Lord to give me His grace so that I could let her go . So that He could turn my daughter's heart to HIM. I can't turn her heart, but He can. And now He's teaching me to be a beautiful Bride, washed by His Word. I have hope that the suffering I have endured is for the next generation. So that my daughter and sons will one day experience Him as the Beloved of their lives.
Dear Brides, He is faithful to His Word. His Word is the truth. The promises He has given us are still ours today.
Several months ago I made the decision to let go of my daughter and conquer without words. And now I can share with you that there have been many times when He has shown that He is working with Her. My daughter goes to church on her own. Regularly attends Christian gatherings organized by the church I grew up in. With friends of her own age. She is growing spiritually.
But today we have both experienced the greatest spiritual growth. Namely, a few months ago, my daughter was fired quite suddenly from her job, which she enjoyed going to. She was very sad about it. It took her several days to get over it. I didn't know how to comfort her in words yet. And today the same thing happened again. Fired without her being able to do anything about it. But this time brides, she was not dejected. She was quiet and calm. She understood that what had happened several months ago was a preparation for her. She understood that our Lord was testing her faith. And what made my joy even greater was that there was a peace in her that she didn't quite understand yet but that I could tell her, "Then you will experience Godโs peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7.
But the Love of my Lord did not stop there. My daughter was allowed to tell her father, who according to her was angry about the whole thing, that maybe because she's busy finding God she was so calm. Dear brides, my heart could only be grateful for the restoration in the relationship with Him that we can have as brides.
Dear brides, be encouraged when you know that your children have suffered from the crisis that has been in your marriage or any relationship. He can restore it. After all, it is He who turns hearts back to the Father. First their Heavenly Father and then their Earthly Father. He alone is what you need for this change.
He loves us
"Know now that the Lord hath set apart a saintly companion; the Lord hears when I cry to Him." Psalm 4:4
-without a doubt I know He hears me and no matter how many mistakes I make, He is faithful to answer me.
"He will turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers...." Malachi 4:6
-because of what my children learn from their Heavenly Father, both their father's and theirs will be turned towards my Heavenly Father.
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."Philippians 4:7
-I can rest easy after I ask. He will do it for me.
