He Called all the Followers Together

“He called all the followers together. He said, β€œYou know that the rulers of the non-Jewish people love to show their power over the people. And their important leaders love to use all their authority. But it should not be that way among you. If one of you wants to become great, then he must serve the rest of you like a servant. If one of you wants to become first, then he must serve the rest of you like a slave. So it is with the Son of Man. The Son of Man did not come for other people to serve him. He came to serve others. The Son of Man came to give his life to save many people.” M2025 ICB

What I took from this is that He teaches his followers the importance of humility and service. He telling us that those who want to be great must serve others, and those who want to be first must be willing to be a slave. He did not come to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a payment for many. True greatness comes from serving others, we should be willing to put others before ourselves. So let us follow His example and serve others with love and compassion. He said that he came to Earth to help people, not to be served by them. So, we should try to help others whenever we can. We can do this by being kind, sharing, and helping.

  1. So true we need to be ready to help and serve in any way we can… Financially, physically, with our patience and time πŸ™πŸ’•β€οΈ and with compassion… Love that.

    1. Yes, even the smallest bit of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life and hopefully their salvation.

  2. Dear Hope, thank you for sharing! It reminds me of 2 things – one is sowing seeds. When we serve, we are sowing the seeds for others to come to the Lord; second is James 4:4 – “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

    1. Yes, when we serve others, we are planting seeds of love, kindness, and compassion. It may not always produce quick results, but over time, they can have a impact on others.
