I live “alone” in a 5-bedroom house, and I have been led to begin to prepare it for sale, in order to move to a smaller place. I have been divorced for 3.5 years. My five children are all grown, and four of them are married. I have lived here for 33 years, and there are 33 years of seven people’s “stuff” in this house. It could be an overwhelming task, but I simply Seek my HH every day, and He guides me.
Yesterday, a good and faithful friend–that I have known since kindergarten (who was one of the few friends who did not abandon me during the divorce) came over. She had not realized how much my FH had left…and how much of my children’s stuff was left here “in storage.” Immediately, she started in on how I needed to DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND and give everyone a DEADLINE to get their stuff out. She was angry that I was dealing with all of this alone.
She could not see that I AM NOT ALONE! She does not know our Heavenly Love…I’ve tried to show her…I’ll keep trying. She literally said, “I would be totally freaking out!” when she saw how much I have left to sort and haul.
This was a HUGE reminder of how far I have come in my Restoration Journey. What I have to do here IS an overwhelming task. I know I would have been curled up in a ball on the floor contemplating this before I knew my HH, OR I would have been sending out demanding emails for people to get their stuff out NOW, hurting relationships. Yet, now I have JOY and PEACE! He will lead the right people to do repairs at the right price at the right time. He will send my FH and children to collect the things that they want to keep. (In fact, He already has–my FH came and took a large number of things just the other day, and he was quite pleasant, and we even laughed over a few of the items that he threw away.)
I am NOT alone! I no longer work in my own strength!! I live CONSTANTLY in HIS PEACE!
Ladies, do not strive and struggle in your own strength! Turn over EVERYTHING to your heavenly Love…so you, too, will live in His PEACE!
Philippians 2:13 AMP “For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.”
When we work in our own strength, we get ONLY what we can do (which is not much.) When we turn it over to our HH, we experience what HE CAN DO!!!
