I have learned that I was drowning and suffocating in stuff. All the things I accumulated in our large spacious home was most of them weight that I was carrying on my shoulders.

I have recently learned to give it all to the Lord because it is all His anyway. Nothing is mine to keep. I learned to let go and ask Him what I am to do with it all. This has brought our relationship to another level and I feel much lighter and healthier. Our home is also much lighter and brighter. My Love has made our house into our home.

I have always exhausted myself cleaning and organizing but everything stayed the same. This made me a very unhappy and unpleasant person. I blamed everyone else for this mess. When really I was buying without asking my earthly husband and even when he specifically told me not to. I hid things from him and didn’t tell him. I wasted so much money and filled this house with things we didn’t need. I love a clutter free and organized home. I love to clean and organize. Growing up my mother was a hoarder and she also kept secrets from my father. My father was a germaphobe and simple and this way of my mothers living really bothered him. I always struggled with the person I was, simple, clutter free and organized, with the person I learned to be, hoarding, spending and keeping, having way too much and being wasteful. I struggled with this battle of opposites with myself for decades. My earthly husband really had a problem with this also. This made him very unhappy but I never listened.

I also struggled with buying things to try to fill a void and needing acceptance and praise from others. These all were big problems I suffered with for a long time.

I used to practically kill myself trying to clean and organize our home but it never made any progress. The home had a dark and angry feeling inside of it. It had a foul smell that I couldn’t get rid of. And it was piled sky high, in every corner with clutter. I painted the walls a lighter color to get rid of the darkness. I tried many different things to get rid of the anger, negativity and chaos everyone felt in our home. Next I was going to rip out the carpeting to get rid of the smell. But recently, as I learned God’s principles and started to read His Word that without Him nothing is possible.

Now I know everything belongs to Him. I have repented for my mistakes. I trust Him completely and surrendered all to Him. Now, with Him, we are organizing and cleaning each room in our house. We have gotten rid of so much stuff. I don’t buy foolishly anymore. My plants are growing beautifully. I clean for just a few hours a day compared to ALL DAY as I did before and the progress is lasting. The house is lighter and brighter. The smell is miraculously gone. Most importantly, the anger, negativity and chaos has been replaced with peace, love and joy. Our children have even made several comments also of how they feel at home now. My Love is present and He has made this house into our home. I praise Him and thank Him everyday. Without Him this was not possible no matter how hard I tried.

Dear Brides, I would like to share with all of you that no matter how hard we try to organize our homes, lives, family, we will not accomplish what we mean to by ourselves. Nothing that we do or buy or hold onto will fill the void or bring us the peace, love and joy we need. That only truly comes from our Loving Lord. The things of this world are temporary but with Him it’s eternal.
