I have to admit that psychology and counseling don’t always work. Many churches preach about counseling — how “good” it is and how it can “save” your marriage. But I’m here to tell you that it didn’t save mine. I’m now divorced, and counseling never helped me personally.
I was blessed to receive free Christian counseling, but it never led to real change because I wasn’t renewing my mind with God’s Word! There’s nothing God cannot heal.
Some might say, “If you were sick, wouldn’t you see a doctor?” And yes, to a certain extent. I’m a nurse, and I know the medical field often just puts a band-aid on the root problem — our need for a Savior. Sometimes, even the medications make things worse!
Sure, surgeries can save physical lives, but what we truly need is spiritual surgery on our hearts by the Almighty Physician — God. Through Jesus Christ, our Husband and Lover of our souls! He loves me. He loves you. And I am absolutely crazy about Him!
Come, Lord, show us the Truth only You can reveal! I love You! You are the only true counselor! Jesus Himself said on earth, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” Stop calling human counseling “good.” Not even Jesus in the flesh called Himself good!

In my case I only had a little counseling for my marriage in crisis, I remember that our Pastor at that time said that we would have therapy sessions with my husband so we could rescue the marriage, by the grace of the Lord the Pastor did not have time and those counseling sessions did not happen, although I felt disappointed at that time, when I learned this truth in RMI I was relieved that we did not have that counseling … But I believe that everything works for the good, and in your case my dear, this is the path you walked and that will help others who come after you not to make the same mistakes, HE can use everything for good and turn things in your favor, as long as you love HIM and delight in HIM.
In my town marriage consellors are not an option we don´t have, people would usually go to a pastor or just separate and thats it. Trying to “fix things” is not an encouragement we hear a lot around here, it is mostly: move on, someone better is out there for you”. So when He lead me here, hearing the contrary was confirmation that I was on the right path seeking his help, His healing.

It is something I have going on and on in my mind. I have a friend that is sick and has relied so much on “whatever a doctor said” that when I share with her about healing her soul, her mind she is more concern about the physical and I understand her. But when I think of the peace she could have if she put her trust completely in him, it saddens me because once we have Him and enjoy that abundant life, we would want everyone to have Him and be able to enjoy with Him too. But at the same time you testimony reminds me that we are His open book, and each one of our chapters will be of help to others who read our books, our lives, HIS works in us.
