| Now, please tell us about your situation and why you have come to us for help and what has your husband/partner said are the main issues or problems he has with you and your relationship? |
| The main issues are that my husband uses meth, alcohol, cheated on me, and is abusive. We have both broken our vows,I had come clean about all my cheating to him in 2023 and have left that old life of trying to hurt him back by cheating and put it behind for the past 16 months but he hasnt admitted to his acts of cheating that started from our relationship into our marriage. I have separated myself from him and had to have him arrested due to the abuse so he is serving his time in prison. His main issue with me is that he doesn't believe me that I am remaining faithful and he blames me that he in prison and blames me for many other things. He doesn't seem to have remorse and conviction and doesn't see his wrongs and unwilling to admit his faults. Its also difficult being of his behaviors and the use of drugs and alcohol how that has damaged our marriage. It also makes it so difficult that pain in me the healing process I am going through and the soul wounds I have. The fact he so unwilling to admit to his faults even though I came clean to him about everything I did he uses that against me that i broke our vows and he never did admit so it has been very painful for me and the separation I feel inside with him as a result of all the pain makes it ever harder. So our marriage has been with a lot of pain of hurting each other being in a toxic environment with a abusive husband that I ended up becoming a toxic and destructive person to my husband but then I saw how wrong I was and got on track with God. I have come to you for help because I am not getting much support from my church and or any encouragement in this area of my life. I have been more encouraged about getting on fire for God but as far as my my marriage it feels like I am getting nothing but a divorce as the response instead of others rising up to help me in prayer for my marriage to be restored. I would like prayer, encouragement, teaching on getting insight and strengthened where God wants to direct me in my marriage. |

| Lord I am very confused about my marriage I don't know what steps to take I dont know how to deal with all the pain that has been done by my husband, I just want my husband to come to you and come to me to be honest with me about all his faults and sins and I want him to stay sober and be a functional person. I want my marriage to be restored and I believe this is possible but I don't know what steps to take because of how things are and because of all the damage that has happened. I just want my husband to forgive me because I have forgiven him and I want there to be a constant flow of forgiveness in me to continue to forgive him. |

Dear Bride, what you are going through is very difficult. I can’t imagine that pain you are experiencing and the confusion you are having about what to do. But I want to encourage you with this verse – “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17

Dear Bride,
I can’t imagine all the pain you’re going through, and I’m sorry you don’t have people surrounding you with hop. But there is always hope in the Lord and you’ve been brought here for a reason. The Lord has plans for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11-14.

In addition to my sister’s suggestion above about being in the word, write down your favourite verses on 3×5 cards and keep them with you wherever you go. You will begin to get stronger as you memorize them and go to God with the cards rather than others when you’re feeling broken and hurt.
One of my favourite verses is Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Dear Bride,
It hurts my heart deeply that you are experiencing such pain. Even though you are hurting, I know that the word is what will wash and cleanse you, creating in you a new heart. A heart that is healed and full of love because He loves you dearly. I would recommend beginning with Course 1 and reading the RYM book. Reading this book helped me to know that this is a spiritual battle and laid the foundation of getting to know who He really is. Journaling along with each chapter and reading testimonies helped me stay the course until my marriage was restored. But mostly keep your eyes focused on Him and begin to long for His Love. He is more than enough and let His Word encourage you.
