My Aunt Who is a Buddhist

My praise report is on behalf of my best friend Erica, who is also my cousin. My praise report is on behalf of my best friend Erica, who is also my cousin.  “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst” (Matt. 18:20)

My cousin’s grandmother, Baba-chan, is in her 90’s now and has been doing so well for her age! Interestingly, Japan has the highest life expectancy in the world. Having the opportunity to live here for a time, I can understand why —it’s all that raw seafood and “delicacies” haha. Recently, Erica’s grandmother was hospitalized because her ankle/foot had gotten unexpectedly swollen and far larger than the other foot.

My aunt had given her the prescribed antibiotics to help with the swelling and inflammation, but they were concerned about blood clots which can break loose and travel through the bloodstream and lodged in her lungs.

It was difficult for everyone to know Baba-chan wasn’t doing well and that she was all alone in the hospital. My aunt visited her every day and Erica, and I went to see her as well, but I could see it was weighing on Erica’s heart the most. After we left the hospital, Erica told me that she doesn’t want her grandmother in there anymore and if we could pray. I said, “Yes. We’re going to ask God right now for Him to release her and bring her home.” Then I told her it says, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.” (Matt. 18:20) “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19)

That evening Erica and I walked home linked arm-in-arm as we usually do, knowing we could leave everything to Him.

Days later, Erica received the news from her mother that Baba-chan’s ankle and foot had greatly decreased in size and that the hospital was releasing her!

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matt. 16:19)
It was a testimony to Erica and her mother as well because I was sure to share this story with my aunt who is a Buddhist, but the Lord is calling her, “…and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.” Acts 11:14. It’s just a matter of time! Amen?

There’s nothing better than to see an answer fulfilled for everyone to witness! He’s incredible!!!!
