β Today's Promise: βAfter you have suffered for awhile, God Himself will make you perfect. He will keep you in the right way. He will give you strength. He is the God of all loving-favor and has called you through Christ Jesus to share His shining-greatness forever.β 1 Peter 5:10
When I was visiting my youngest daughter in Cape Town, little did I know it was to be my last visit as the following year her and her husband immigrated to the U.K. We were listening to the radio and the song "Perfect" played and I fell in love with the song immediately. I had my Heavenly Husband on my mind as I was listening but did realize that it was actually a love song between a man and a woman. This morning I was watching Christian television and a lady sang a revised version that I thought was just "Perfect" to sing to my Heavenly Husband, the lyrics are as follows:
I found a love, for me
So I'm gonna dive right in and follow your lead
I found a love, beautiful and sweet
I never knew, all of this time it was waiting for me
I was so lost when I found your love
Not knowing what it was
Broken until I saw Your light
in a moment You made me whole
Took me and led me home
Now, I'm not afraid to testify
Oh, I
I was dancing in the dark
When I saw Your open arms
Barefoot on the cross
And now I hear you in every song
When my life was still a mess
You saw something beautiful
I don't deserve it, but Your grace is perfect tonight
I found a Savior, stronger than darkness
He takes my fears, and I never fear I'm alone
I found a Savior, to carry more then just my secrets
To carry love, and every burden in my soul
I was so lost when I found Your love
Standing against all odds
I know I'll make it through somehow
What was once lost is redeemed
A heart once in chains now free
And I'm not afraid to testify
Oh, I
When I'm dancing in the dark
I will raise my weary arms
And thank You for the cross
And a grace that's enough for anyone
Cause You found me in a mess
And saw something beautiful
I don't deserve it but Your grace is perfect
I don't feel worth it, but Your grace is perfect tonight.
βAfter you have suffered for awhile, God Himself will make you perfect. He will keep you in the right way. He will give you strength. He is the God of all loving-favor and has called you through Christ Jesus to share His shining-greatness forever.β 1 Peter 5:10
Only a perfect God can make us perfect. And we are all suffering one way or the other and through our suffering we will also be made perfect.
