Ministers: Here are important reminders to keep in mind when selecting PRs for our blogs or web pages:

  1. The PR keeps our RMIEW members and Encourager Readers policies, that it is by His truths we are learning here and what RMIEW believes and stands for.
  2. The PR focuses on the Lord as our Husband—NOT on the earthly husband or ex-husband.
  3. The PR is NOT a "praise" that causes anyone to focus on what could be their "addiction" or "obsession"— which is most often their EH "earthly husband," their marriage, and/or their restoration.  Watch for repeating EH throughout PR.
  4. The PR should focus on the LORD: what HE has become or is becoming to the woman, what HE has done for her that day or over the past week, and lifts HIM up.
  5. The way to discern when a PR is excellent is to think of the women who get Encouragers with all the other "junk mail" they get each morning; will this PR set the right frame of mind for them to start their day Encouraged to foster a relationship with Him?
  6. Be sure the PR is not in the form of a devotional, speaking to the Lord directly in their PR and falling under the principle of Matthew 6.
  7. EASY, LIGHT and Encouraging them to know Him personally is what we want to post or use in our Encouragers.
  8. The PR must also not be too vague where leaving the reader confused regarding what the person is talking about like this PR posted before our Guidelines. Heather leaves the reader confused: Burden Lifted through Praise. Here is one of many emails we received as a result."I didn't like this PR so much. It seemed too weird and made me feel uncomfortable. But the main reason is that she never said what it was that she needed prayer for, and this sort of PR seems to leave me confused and makes me (or would make someone) stop reading them.
  9. The PR cannot be used if it is basically filled with details, such as the amount something was paid for and specific dates (so the PR does not appear outdated when we use it two to three months later), which leads to our final guideline.
  10. PLEASE NOTE: Because we work ahead to ensure our POSTS, the PR you submit TODAY will not be used until 2-3 full MONTHS later. If your Praise Reports focuses on any holiday, it will be saved and posted the following year. THANK YOU!

"And I, if I am lifted up, will draw all people to Myself.” John 12:32

Thank you!

Preachy Pharisees

In Chapter 2 of the book How GOD Can Restore, Erin says this about the Pharisees:

"Spiritual arrogance. Over half of those who come to our ministry for help to restore their marriages exhibit spiritual arrogance or self-righteousness. This is what I refer to as a Pharisee spirit. Ladies, this is so dangerous. God showed me, in His Word, that the Lord was only harsh, critical, and opposed to one set of individuals—the Pharisees! And I was one of them!"

Ladies, this Pharisee spirit can also reveal itself when you become preachy either in your praises or especially when you comment on someone else's post or comment.

The Pharisees were a Jewish religious party. They were known for their strict observance of religious practices and ceremonies and adherence to oral laws and traditions. What we want to foster is a RELATIONSHIP and exhibiting this sort of behavior could easily prevent someone from posting praise or commenting—but it also will damage YOU as well.

Please stop and read this Living Lesson, which actually speaks about and is entitled Preachy—especially if your post was not posted or your comment was removed and we sent you this link.
