Kristin, how did your restoration actually begin?
In October of last year, my husband left the house due to all the disagreements we had. There were constant fights and we were more distant from each other every day. Even though I was worn out, I knew I still loved my husband a lot. Before he left I asked him to stay, to try again, but he was determined to leave.
From the beginning God led me to fight for the restoration of my marriage, several times, in difficult times. Then one day I was surfing the internet looking for stories of restored marriages, and for people in the same situation as me. As it happened, the Lord led me to the book "How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage" OMG what a blessing came into my life that day!
I was convinced before that I had been making a lot of mistakes with my husband, but after reading the book I was absolutely sure that I was totally neglecting the Word of God as a wife, that I was very far from the Lord, and that everything that had been happening was God's plan for our lives. By reading through the book and later taking the courses, (which I continue to do by the way), I started to learn to be a wise woman, to seek the Lord more and more and win my husband without words. I had many slips along the way but God was always there beside me to lift me up and guide me. The most difficult thing for me was to learn to let him go, without running after him, but the Lord taught me and helped me to be content.
How did God change your situation, Kristin, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
The Lord taught me to pray more and more, and I was asking Him to become the wife, mother and woman that He wished me to be. I surrendered myself totally into the hands of God, and He was and still is very much moving in my life. PRAISE GOD, as I know that the work in me and my life is not yet complete. I want to be totally transformed by my God, and above all to be closer to my Heavenly Husband every day. God gave me a meek and quiet spirit, patience to wait, strength to overcome the pain, humility and meekness to keep silent and faith to continue the journey.
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Kristin, did the Lord teach you during this trial?
I committed to reading the Psalms and Proverbs every day, I read the whole Restore Your Marriage book and when I finished, I started again. The same with the courses, I began with Course 1, then 2, then 3, moving into the Abundant Life series. I want to absorb as much as possible. I learned what kind of wife is precious in the eyes of God, how to be submissive to my husband to honor the Lord. Yet the main thing and most precious is to be in the highest place I want to be, "as a bride to the Lord" my Heavenly Husband.
“Therefore, thus says the LORD, ‘If you return, then I will restore you—Before Me you will stand; and if you extract the precious from the worthless, you will become My spokesman. They for their part may turn to you, but as for you, you must not turn to them” (Jer. 15:19).
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Kristin?
The most difficult moments were when my earthly husband told me that he no longer felt anything for me, and then he found out that he was already getting enough from other woman, not one, but several. God helped me to overcome each difficulty and gave me the confident heart I needed to continue moving past the battle that was coming against me without being discouraged.
Kristin, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?
A friend and prayer companion I had agreed that when each woman came into my husband's life, that God would act even more powerfully by turning his heart towards me, which is exactly what happened.
Tell us HOW it happened, Kristin? Did your husband just walk in the front door? Kristin, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
The woman he was staying with was actually a high school “friend.” She came and spent about two weeks with him, then he went back to live with her. At the same time, my husband came back periodically, showing affection towards me, and even expressed jealousy again, accusing me of having my own lover (when in fact I did have a Lover hehehe). That day I had asked the Lord when my husband was going to come back, and I heard God say that He was turning his heart back.
At the time, my husband didn't even come into our house anymore, he was always curt and harsh with me, and just when he appeared to be the most happy, because the other woman was with him at his mother's house, it was then that God turned his heart to want only me. One Saturday during a visit with our daughter, he told me he was going to take the Other Woman to the train station that afternoon, that he’d asked her to leave and never contact him again. Then before realizing what was happening, he pulled me close to him and gave me a kiss. A kiss like he’d never given me before. From then on, I just watched the Lord driving everything in our restoration for his return home.
Another request I made to the Lord in my prayers is that before he came back to me he would first turn to the Lord, because he was not yet a Christian. The day after he kissed me, he went to church at the invitation of a friend. He sent me a message telling me and inviting me to the next week's service asking if I would go with him. How wonderful and faithful God is! On the Monday of the following week, my husband was already at our house again, unpacked and he was different! Today I can say what I always dreamed would happen, "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord"!!!
Would you recommend any of our resources in particular that helped you, Kristin?
I recommend everything to be honest with you. I don’t believe I’ve not taken advantage of every one of your resources you have on your sites. Everything is free and it just reminded me of the promise in Isaiah 55:1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”
To get started I recommend the book "How God can and will restore your marriage" and purchase in cases of 25 as part of my offering to give to women I hear are having difficulty in their marriages, sharing how it “opened my eyes to the truth and gave me hope.” Also "a wise woman" that I will still read. Regardless of where any woman begins, I already know that it is a blessing for each of us as women regardless of our marital status, to take advantage of each of the courses at RMI.

Seek, trust, and believe in the Lord's promises. All the materials helped me a lot and I am sure it will help many other women, but being in communion with Him and always listening to His voice guiding, loving and strengthening me, was what gave me the courage to continue on my journey. May the Lord be the main purpose of your life, and everything around Him He will work together for your good. Amen!!!! Seek and be blessed by HIM who is beautiful and perfect!!!
