RESTORED Marriage Testimony: “Almost Everyday I Asked for a Divorce”

What brought you to RMI? Please use this space to briefly let our readers know what your life was like when you first found us, Zelda, so our readers understand just what a miracle your restoration is.

Zelda, how did your restoration actually begin?

Well my beloved sisters. I first confess that I was a foolish woman who destroyed and tore her marriage down with her own hands. Two years ago is when I was separated from my husband. My husband started the divorce proceedings because I despised everything. Being married bothered me, so almost every day I asked him for a divorce. I was blind, possessed by selfishness that told me that I did not love my husband. A lie of the enemy. God told me many times through His Word and through many sisters.

So many told me that the Lord says to repent, what you are doing is wrong. Stop before you act! My EH had already committed adultery with another woman, and the worst thing was that I did not care!! And instead, I want a husband who makes me feel special. Then one day I see my husband with that woman and it feels like my heart burst out of my chest. Oh, what terrible anguish I felt when I saw him with her. I drop to my knees and plead with God for help.

Then, the LORD, MY HEAVENLY Husband, and Father show me the first pages of the book GOD WANTS AND CAN RESTORE YOUR MARRIAGE. I decide to read it and decide, yes I want my marriage restored and thought all I have to do is decide I want it and pray in agreement with our group. But everything is a process, it's a journey.

The truth was my EH despised me and even though I wanted everything to happen quickly, I began to understand that the times of GOD are PERFECT AND WE HAVE TO WAIT. I saw changes in me but I did not realize or see that GOD WAS WORKING IN THE LIFE OF MY HUSBAND. I had to learn to release my husband and to stop my obsession of following him at midnight to see if he was with the other woman.

It was almost a full year of not knowing when I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HIM. He told me he wanted to speak with me. When we met he said he had stopped the DIVORCE PROCESS, GOD had him stop it!

My husband returned home and we are finally together. My HUSBAND RETURNED HOME WE ARE TOGETHER. This month we are planning to give each other new rings and renew our marriage vows.

Many thanks to the one who shared the first pages and the book HOW GOD WANTS AND CAN RESTORE YOUR MARRIAGE and also for my group who was praying in agreement.

I want to ENCOURAGE each of you to follow His plan and don't give up because GOD IS FAITHFUL and always MEETS and exceeds His PROMISES.

How did God change your situation Zelda as you sought Him wholeheartedly?

God was wonderful in teaching me so much, mostly that He is faithful and always fulfills His promises. Also that this is a process, a journey but to value each day of this with Him.

What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Zelda, did the Lord teach you during this trial?

I learned a lot from the RYM and also from studying the testimonials that I read here.

What were the most difficult times that God helped you through Zelda?

In my despair, I saw everything as lost, but now I know that with God there is nothing impossible!

Zelda, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?

The return of my husband and him telling me that he never stop loving me.

Tell us HOW it happened Zelda? Did your husband just walk in the front door? Zelda, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?

He called me and said he wanted to talk to me and that's how everything started and how my restoration journey was completed. The Lord taught me to trust in Him with all my heart, not what I saw.

Would you recommend any of our resource in particular that helped you Zelda?

Everything from your ministry was very helpful, for me, it was mainly each of the By the Word of Their Testimonies books that I studied.

Would you be interested in helping encourage other women Zelda?

Of course! Yes.

Either way Zelda, what kind of encouragement would you like to leave women with, in conclusion?

May each of you continue moving forward and do not feel defeated even though you see that nothing is happening. God is working with our husbands and when you least expect it, there is your victory!!
