Blaise, how did your restoration actually begin?
MY MARRIAGE IS FINALLY, RESTORED!
I don't remember exactly when it all started. My marriage was always rocky, but in the past several months it had hit a crisis—I decided to kick my husband out of our home because I stupidly thought he was the reason for my sadness! Of course, he was not the problem, but it was too late. When I got home and saw that he was leaving, my heart broke, and I did everything that I could to stop him. After he left, I called; I begged; I cried; I pleaded; I promised, yet there was nothing I could do to make him come back. He just told me coldly that there was no way—he’d never come back—we were through!
How did God change your situation, Blaise, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
There’s no question that I had to be broken. God had to get my attention. I had to see just who I really was and acknowledge my sin of being a contentious woman, and I needed to be able to be shaped by the Lord. I needed a gentle and quiet spirit.
At first, it was very, very hard. I couldn't believe that God could have allowed it all for my own good. I didn't think it was fair to fight for a person who left and chose to be with another person. Yes, after he left, he met someone almost immediately. To be honest, I really wanted a new relationship, too; I wanted to find a new husband and start over. But thankfully, God never allowed that to happen. It was at this point when I realized that God wanted me to trust Him for my husband's life and for the restoration of our marriage! But first I had to let go and win him back without a word!
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Blaise, did the Lord teach you during this trial?
The Bible was my essential tool, used to build my life, as I later found is what A Wise Woman says—rebuild my life and marriage on the Rock. Also, the book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage was my guide and what God used to reveal His will to me. It was the RMI Courses that were instrumental in my transformation and learning, to be the person God wanted me to be.
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Blaise?
The hardest times were when my flesh wanted answers, my eyes wanted to see something happening, and my ears wanted to hear some confirmation that my marriage would be restored.
But what happened was the opposite; my husband called me just three weeks after I found my HH and became the Lord’s bride—asking for a divorce before the end of the year because he planned to marry the OW on New Year’s Day.
What gave me my answers and helped me to realize we don’t see restoration coming is by purchasing the Word of their Testimony ebooks, because this is how we are able to overcome “by the word of their testimonies” and His shed blood.
Blaise, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?
The turning point was really focusing on the Lord as my Heavenly Husband and forgetting about my situation and ignoring my friends. I remember, as soon as I was able to put the Lord above all else, thank Him, sing love songs to Him, praise Him for each trial, thank Him for my bleak and hopeless situation, I was able to really feel His presence and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Once my heart was His alone, the Lord began to turn my husband's heart back to me, just as my marriage evaluation promised would happen. That’s when my husband started calling me!
Tell us HOW it happened, Blaise. Did your husband just walk in the front door? Blaise, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
My husband called me, just two weeks after asking me for a divorce. I’d read Facing Divorce and was actually reading Facing Divorce Again. I’d enthusiastically agreed with him, and as I said, just two weeks later he called asking if I would accept him back, even though he thought I had someone else, who he called “my lover.” I had to smile.
So I said, “I'll see you this weekend. I'll call you to let you know when you can buy my ticket,” because he was living in another state. I was so happy at first, but I ended up not calling. I didn’t want restoration any more. I just wanted the Lord alone and for my life to remain as blissful.
When I didn’t call, he called me again and said, “I’m seriously in love with you. You can trust me. Please give me another chance.” So again, I agreed, saying I’d call to buy my ticket, but once again, I didn't call and panicked. That’s when I submitted a praise report, and I got an unexpected reply from the RMI Ministry Team, assuring me that it wasn’t about what I wanted, but what my Love wanted. Erin says we’re not to trust anyone, but only Him. So I did.
I spent the weekend with my Beloved, to gather the courage to say, “Not my will but Yours.”
On Monday, my earthly husband called again, and I was able to say, “Go ahead and buy my ticket for today, because I'm coming.”
What I found out later was that he ended up telling the OW that their relationship would never work out and that he was moving back home.
What I find is so incredible is that the verse in Romans I’d memorized and quoted so often and also the one in Habakkuk were so on point!! My going back and forth God used for good so that my Restoration would take place on our anniversary date! So now we will only have one date to celebrate each year!!

Yes, I would and always do recommend each and every one of the RMI materials! Each one, each book, each course is based on the Bible, so not only do you find your marriage is restored, but what’s clear is that more than just marriage, RMI wants you to learn to have a true relationship with the Lord. Learn to become His bride Finding the Abundant Life.
The book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage was the door that the Lord opened for me to discover my sins (the contentious, quarrelsome, proud, stubborn, selfish woman I once was), which led me to become A Wise Woman.

Beloved Bride, I would like to encourage you with a verse that I meditated on and focused on throughout my restoration with the Lord. Perhaps this is the most important of all, so don't give up!
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
