Yennu , how did your Restoration Journey actually begin?
PRAISE THE LORD He has turned my husband's heart back to us!
With this testimony, I want to begin by thanking our beloved Father and my HH (Heavenly Husband)! I also want to thank the creators of this website because it helped me so much and continues to help me due to the daily testimonies and devotions that keeps me encouraged. It’s our spiritual food we need every day. May the Lord bless you! Now to share my journey...
When we got married I only focused on myself, almost entirely on my big wedding, without ever considering my husband's dreams or even about our future as a couple. This was horrible for my EH (earthly husband) because he could never count on me to help in the planning or construction of our new house and so many other needs we had as a couple. And due to this, he walked away from the ways of the Lord.
Fast forward to almost 12 years later, a year ago in March, when I was suddenly unemployed, and as soon as I got paid for 5 years of work, everything was gone once all of our previous debts and loans were paid. My EH was discouraged and tired of fighting an uphill battle alone, and that’s when he told me that our marriage was over. But immediately, he told me to be patient because these feelings would pass. But I was foolish, quarrelsome, anxious and talked too much, complaining and impatient demanding that he commit to us.
What’s worse, I told everything that was going on to his family, which made the situation much much worse. Six months later, in September, he left home. I was desperate and inconsolable despite the fact that during those 6 months he lived with us, but whined because he was no longer “present” as my husband.
Then it happened, in November, I found out on Facebook that he had become involved with his teenage ex-girlfriend. I was finally broken. God finally got my attention.
How did God change your situation, Yennu, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
Even though I was already knowledgeable in His Word and it had increased since when we first met and got married—I desperately needed much more maturity, along with closeness and intimacy with our Lord, as my Heavenly Husband, HH. So I continued in the presence of the Lord and I searched with all my strength. I was praying night and day and made sure I woke up at 5 am in order to pray for hours before going to work. That allowed me to (during the workday) meditate on His Word all the time, while I was at work and during my commute.
One day I discovered testimonies of restored marriages on the internet and I found the most precious GIFT from RMI, the book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage. I read the whole book and reread it and each time I read it, I continued to become a woman I never knew could exist. Through this book, I started to pray using His Word for my husband, and even better, the Lord began to transform me into a woman I knew I needed to be. I simply asked Him (and I am still in the process of restoring my life and who He wants me to be). Making myself not the center of my world and putting love into practice, being patient with everyone, is such a joy—which also freed me from compulsive spending. I learned to free myself from my EH and cling only to our HH.
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Yennu, did the Lord teach you during this trial?
The daily reading of the Word. Trusting in the Lord's promises. I learned to let go and wait on the Lord. The book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage and the testimonies of praise helped me a lot along this journey. Now I hope to pass my Victory baton to you who are reading my testimony.
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Yennu?
When he told me the marriage was over and he didn't love me anymore and when I found out he was involved with another woman. But the Lord in His infinite mercy supported me and didn't let me give up but each time to press more into intimacy with Him. Several times I thought about giving up. What surprised me that at one point I was even encouraged by the RMI to give up—but give it to Him. That’s when I really felt free and He began to really change things!
Yennu, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?
As I prayed, fasted, and applied the principle of letting go fully, making my HH (Heavenly Husband) all I wanted, needed and Who I lived for, that’s when the Lord began to turn my husband's heart to begin to look for me. In December he started to send me messages wanting to know how I was and if I would forgive him. Then in February he started coming home and stayed a while but always left. I found it strange and confusing, but then RMI reminded me it’s a spiritual battle and to want HIM above all else to bring this Restoration Journey to the fork in the road and begin my Abundant Life Journey, praise God!
Tell us HOW it happened, Yennu? Did your husband just walk in the front door? Yennu, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
The Lord had spoken in my heart that he would return on our anniversary, but I wasn’t sure which anniversary. Yet by this time I wasn’t sure I really wanted restoration because my HH and I were so in love. I was going to take a vacation from work and on our wedding anniversary, when he called and asked to spend the night at home. That night he said he would not be leaving again and asked if it was okay if he could go to get his belongings to stay at home. Glory to God, that was many months ago. Even though it’s more difficult having him home as RMI tells us over and over, God says, "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6.

Yes, take the courses, especially Finding Abundant Life. The book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage is where to start and A Wise Woman is the foundation to your changing. Reading the Word, reading the Daily Encourager and the Testimonies will pinpoint the areas of your lives. And to know how to get deeper into knowing the Lord, all recommended all of the Abundant Life courses.

Do not give up your Marriage. Let GOD fight for you while you focus on the Lord because He is our Rock.
Believe the Word, take them as the Lord's promises. Just take possession of them because they are yours.

You beloved who want your marriage restored, do not lose hope...persevere in the search for the Lord and call on Him, He will hear you. Remember if our God allowed this journey in your life it’s because He wants to teach you to be the woman He created you to be and that you should become more intimate with Him and know Him as your Lover. All desert experiences aren’t bad, enjoy the hot temperatures. Be eager to learn and understand what God's good “will” is for your life. The Lord has no pleasure in divorce! Malachi 2:16
