Janicka, how did your Restoration Journey actually begin?
It all started when my husband, Kelton, left home for the first time. He claimed that he didn't love me anymore. He said he didn't want me and also said that it was very bad to live with a person he didn't want to be with.
How did God change your situation, Janicka, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
In that same week I looked up restored marriages and found RMI. I took all the courses, read the books, watched the "Be Encouraged" videos and put the principles into practice.
My first journey lasted 1 year and 8 months and it was very painful and difficult but my Heavenly Husband was always by my side and it was thanks to Him that I didn't give up.
Kelton asked us to come back on Valentine's Day and a few months later I got pregnant with our restoration baby girl.
Unfortunately I left the principles aside and I no longer paid attention to my Beloved as He deserved. I went back to being contentious, snooping around Kelton's things and his cell phone. Then one day I saw a different woman on his cell phone and we fought a lot, for days we fought over this matter and then Kelton left home again.
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), did the Lord teach you during this trial, Janicka?
It was on this second journey that I gave myself completely to the Lord, not for the restoration of my marriage but because I wanted Him to become my Heavenly Husband and for my heart to yearn for Him alone.
I delivered everything into God's hands and I didn't pray for restoration or my husband. My prayer was that He would do His will in my life and not mine. I cried out day and night for Him to make me His bride. There were weeks when I fasted 12 hours a day so that my heart and mind would be His alone.
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Janicka?
The hardest moment was when I received a video in which my husband was walking hand in hand with the other. This happened just 3 days after he left home and I had to see how my daughter cried when he left after a quick visit.
Janicka, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?
When the Lord became my Heavenly Husband, when my heart only yearned and beated for Him. When my thoughts were for Him, everything else became very insignificant and no longer hurt.
Tell us HOW it happened, Janicka? Did Kelton just walk in the front door? Janicka, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
God had already been telling my heart that it was close to happening, even though it was only 2 months since my husband had left home.
One Saturday he came to shop and we talked a lot, talked about our mistakes and asked for forgiveness. He said he would leave other woman and come home. At that moment I was afraid because on the first journey he said the same and yet it took more than 1 year to come back but I was calm and delivered it into His hands and rested again. The next day, at dawn, I woke up with a message from him saying he loved me, asking forgiveness for his attitude and telling me to wait for him to come back. I didn't answer the message, I just waited on the Lord. The next day he came to visit us, spent the whole day at home and said he was just waiting for a reason to leave OW and come home. I was silent and just smiled and then he said goodbye and left.
Less than an hour later, he called me saying that the two of them had fought because she was jealous of me and asked me if he could sleep at home. He came and the next day he went to other women’s house to get his things and brought them home. Glory to God!
Since then we've been doing great and he says every day that he loves me and that he needs my help and that he wants God to be the center of our life, our home and our marriage. He said he wants to grow in his spiritual life.

My dear. I know it's very difficult, very painful and that it seems like it will never pass but believe me, God can and He will. Trust the Lord, make Him your Heavenly Husband, pour out your heart to Him, surrender, be His brides and He will fulfill the promises in your lives. Do not doubt my beloved, you will make it. Fight for your marriage and your family.
