“The Spices of Life: When God Transforms Our Trials Part 1″wLL 57ย โ€œTaste the Spices

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."Rom.8.28

My Precious Wives,

Do you remember the life lesson about spices? Our Dear One allowed my trials to be truly spicy during mid-January. But wait, let me tell you something important: before this even happened, He led me to read this lesson.

So, my 4-year-old son unfortunately spilled liquid on my laptop that night. Yes, I cried, I admit it. Like a child, I exclaimed, โ€œBut Dear, how will I continue on AideMatrimoniale? Itโ€™s impossible to post blogs from the phone!โ€ The next day, I went to drop off my laptop, knowing deep down that it was probably over. But

Not having my computer anymore allowed me to spend more time with Him.

After a week, the repairman called me and gave me two options: he could keep the laptop and give me a brand new one at a discount, or change the battery. I chose the first option. I wonโ€™t lie, a million questions started running through my mind, and I turned to our Dear One, asking, โ€œAre you sure about what Iโ€™m doing?โ€

When I arrived at the store, they gave me a 50% discount! I paid for a new laptop at half price, because my husband had already paid for the full price of the previous one, and by the grace of our Dear One, the store now considers us privileged customers. Praise to our Beloved, who continues to work wonders!

I will continue this spicy series because He allowed it so that all the praise may go to Him.

Text from Erin:

Isnโ€™t that so true? Thatย ifย everythingย alwaysย ran smoothly that our lives would become bland and flavorless? Also true is that when there are too many spices, maybe excessively spicy, all you can taste is the spiciness. Very true, too, is that some people canโ€™t stand any sort of spice in their foods, while others crave spiciness.ย

  1. I have been craving spice because I wanted to get closer to my Heavenly Husband. I recently read this same lesson along with Could This Be War? and the next day I faced a totally unexpected test (my Husband won’t let me talk about it right now). Both lessons prepared me. The best thing about going through trials is that He is present, and I love when He prepares me and lets me know that He is in control, I can face whatever comes with peace and hope.

  2. Kateleen, the same thing happens to me. This beginning of the year has brought many spicy situations, and thank you for reminding me of this lesson. But when I see them, I know that it is the enemy who wants to steal the Promises of Our Beloved, and that is when we must get closer, and fill ourselves more with His peace and love, so that those spices are only a reason to run to Him.
As long as we remain in Him, the excess of spice will not harm us.
