Unnecessary Worry

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Pr252

Hi ladies, I haven't posted a praise in a while so thought I'd share this lesson He showed me yesterday.

I recently signed up for a service that lets me view my incoming mail for the day. I'm not sure why they offer it, but I suppose it's useful for people expecting important mail or packages.

Yesterday, I checked my mail while at work and saw an envelope from a government agency. My heart started racing, and I worried that they might be canceling my middle son's program or school funding. I quickly realized that anxiety was taking over and gave it to the Lord.

I then understood why the Lord sometimes conceals things from us. Had I not checked my mail online, I wouldn't have known about the letter until I got home and wouldn't have experienced unnecessary worry. Perhaps this is why He doesn't reveal everything to us at once – He knows what's best. I'm grateful that I knew to turn to Him in this situation. Years ago, I would have spent the entire day worrying and made myself sick.

When I got home, I opened the letter and found out my son was getting a slight increase in funding.πŸ˜€

Who do we need to run to when we’ve got ourselves in a mess? Our Wonderful Counselor!Β

Who has known the mind of the Lord? β€œOh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?” (Rom. 11:33–34). Speak to the Lord about what concerns you. Then sit quietly and hear from Him about each and everything that is coming against you so He can lead you to what you should do.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds….Ph4:6-7

  1. Dear Hope, how wonderful is Our Beloved. I was so happy when I read the blessing that came in that letter. And how worried we are when Our Husband has already figured everything out.
Blessed be the Lord who is in control of everything.

    1. Yes, He is! I’m so grateful that He’s always there to guide me. It’s amazing how He makes everything work out, even when we can’t see it. He’s in control and always faithful!

  2. Wow Hope, what a lovely surprise!! So much of the time we stress ourselves out because we cannot wait on the Lord. Yesterday He had me saying over and over in my head “wait & trust” as He has me in a season of waiting but l needed to trust too πŸ™πŸΌ Not forgetting l also needed to praise Him and thank Him for every difficulty encountered. No matter what HE is good!!

    1. Yes, it’s really important to remember to wait and trust His timing. It’s definitely hard to remember to praise Him through tough times, but it’s so important! He is good no matter what! Just the other day, I spilled my drink on my lap while driving, and I turned to my middle son and said β€œLet’s praise and thank Him for this, I don’t know why but there must be a reason” πŸ˜†

  3. Thank you for sharing precious Hope. I am so grateful we can run to our Wonderful Counselor with anything. So many times in my own strength and my own ways I have gotten myself in so many messes and I don’t know what I would have done without His help and grace and of course His everlasting love.

    1. Yes, I agree! He is always there to provide guidance and pick us up when we fall. I’m so thankful for His unwavering love and support.

  4. I can relate to what you shared Hope. I used to worry about things for days, having sleepless nights. But PTL I found my Beloved Lord and know that I can just give it all to Him because He is the only one who can work in our situations.

    1. Yes, I’m so thankful that we can give everything to Him in prayer and trust Him to work everything out! I love How He can make our heavy burdens light. πŸ’•

  5. Dear Hope, what a beautiful praise and so recognizable for me. I sometimes worry that I have to pay back a lot of money to the tax authorities. The income tax return from last year has not yet been completed. The return is a bit more complex because part of the income from my FH still has to be included. My FH told me that I probably have to pay back a lot. I am grateful that I now experience so many blessings in my life that I also find peace in this again and again. Because He is the Provider in my life. I am grateful that you share your praise as extra encouragement not to be afraid but to trust in Him.

    1. Yeah, I get those worries. It’s so easy to stress about financial stuff, especially if we don’t stay connected and intimate with Him EVERYDAY. I’m really glad you can find peace and trust in the Lord through it all. He really does provide for us, and I’m grateful we can share these encouragements with each other! Even if the taxes are a lot, He will take care of it.
