Dear Brides, follow these tips outlined in this Chapter 11 Making the Most of Your Grocery Shopping. It will help you get organized and simplify your life. These suggestions will help you enjoy taking care of your family without becoming overworked, burdened, or stressed. Implementing these things will help you enjoy being a worker at home.
My mind was renewed from reading this chapter on just how easy grocery shopping could be. I love the idea of going to the store with a clipboard and writing down the aisle number and all the items purchased from that isle and where it is located. This will save time and prevent us from wandering around the store looking for a certain item or even forgetting it. I love the idea of having a master grocery list of items typically needed or purchased, then you can highlight when you need it or mark it out when you don't. Plus, it makes it easier to add things, like ingredients for a new meal you want to try. I also love the idea of having laundry baskets in the car to put your shopping bags in to help prevent your groceries from spilling out and making it easier to carry in. These ideas will make our jobs light, easy, and enjoyable.
Taking care of our household and families should bring us joy, and we should enjoy cooking meals and doing all the work leading up to that, like going to the grocery. However, sometimes it can be more like a chore than an enjoyment. The ideas in this Chapter 11 Making the Most of Your Grocery Shopping, if adopted, can simplify these tasks for you saving time and energy, making it enjoyable to go to the grocery and prepare meals for your family. It will even open up a time where you can be creative with your meals, presenting the food in a creative and fun way.
I will be making a master grocery list for a month of all the items that we need, that way, each week, I can just highlight the things we need and mark out the items we don't.
And she who remains at home will divide the spoil”! (Ps. 68:12)
This scripture means so much to me because a mother should not do everything herself. She should divide up the chores or things of the household between herself and kids. If a mother does this all herself, she will become stressed out and probably hate what all she has to do. It is better to divide it up equally so no one gets burned out, and everyone is still able to enjoy.
Lord, forgive me for not enjoying going to the grocery and caring for the household. Forgive me for always being stressed out and anxious about time and all that I have to get done.
Lord, I love You so much. Please help me to enjoy my duties as a wife and mother. Help me to enjoy cooking again and be creative in my meals again. Please help me not just throw meals together, but really be creative in the things that I cook, having good meals like I used to make. Lord, help me to enjoy doing household chores. I can't do any of this without You. Please help me to be the wife and mother You want me to be.
