Dear Brides when the plane touched down on the runway airport in Paris, my heart was so full of anticipation and excitement to meet with my dear friend Sara again! Immigration was a breeze because there wasn’t any immigration coming from Spain (which is where I’d been working from for 6 weeks), being part of the EU, which I’d totally forgotten about! I inserted a new prepaid sim into my phone and messaged Sara that I’d be boarding a bus soon to meet her at our pre-arranged “halfway” point!
You should have seen the way everyone looked at us when Sara finally emerged from the crowd of Parisians and we ran to each other! We slightly screamed and embarrassed with a big bear hug jumping up and down. It felt like I hadn’t seen her in such a long time…five weeks felt that way!!! Due to Sara’s earlier flight, she’d been able to check-in to our Airbnb and even warm up the place by switching on the heater!
We went to bed very late and awoke very early to meet and welcome the 3 other brides who were flying in that day!!!! Our HH couldn’t have arranged anything more perfect how He orchestrated it so we each were able to meet at different airports in order to assist them with their luggage, with no concerns about locating our flat, and of course, embracing them with a familiar and smiling face after a terribly long journey!!!
The Paris district of our accommodations was a lovely few minutes walk to the metro and our place overlooked an old historical square with trees that displayed strands of twinkle lights!
You can’t imagine how it felt to see this Board of Directors meeting come together as it did. You see, I’m the only one that’d been blessed enough to go visit each of them in their home and their countries and here I was looking into their glowing faces as a group, all of us —TOGETHER!!!!! Wow, I had no words. I’d not seen Yvonne in over a year when I’d been in South Africa and it has been over two years since I’d see Paula in Brazil!! For Lota and I, we had spent the prior two Christmases in Nicaragua and here we were together in Paris. And of course, as I said, Sara and I had said our goodbyes in Turkey six weeks earlier. Each of these five women will forever have a special place in my heart.
Each day we bundled up tightly for the chilly weather and saw all the famous sights, sat at little cafes and even took a cruised along the Seine River. How many different ways can we fall even MORE in Love with Him??! I for one can honestly say that this has been the best year of my life thus far.
1 Corinthians 2:9— but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
“Behold, the former things have come to pass, now I declare new things; before they spring forth I proclaim them to you”— Isaiah 42:9
“I proclaim to you new things from this time, Even hidden things which you have not known.” — Isaiah 48:6
