Diving Us Drunk

I grew up in a home environment where my step dad would sometimes get drunk while we were out and then refuse for anyone to drive us home. During these times we as children would be absolutely petrified as he would drive recklessly and be angry because of the argument between him and my mom…

To make matters word, he would then become further abusive when we arrived home. Well as it is I am now living with my former stepdad and mom and during a recent family visit the same thing occurredโ€” he got drunk and would not allow anyone to drive. I took a walk to the car and said silent prayers asking the Lord to bring us home safely. Not only did we arrive home safely but my step dad also drove slowly and was not aggressive at all. During the drive, I spoke to him sweetly and commended him on the way he was driving as he admitted that he was seeing double. My step dad went to bed after admitting that he was indeed very drunk.

The most wonderful thing is that the next morning he even apologised because he had been so drunk. Now, ladies, I KNOW that this is only because God hears our prayers and because of my submissiveness even under a man who was so many times has been cruel and abusive as I was growing up. The Lord blesses obedience. What I had always just said about my stepdad was “well that is just the way it is.” Well, let me tell you prayer changes people. I pray for peace and love in the home I am living in every day, I pray for my step dad and mom to become the man and the woman of God that they were meant to be. Ha Ha Ha whilst I am typing this praise report he has just walked in and brought me some popcorn that he has made!!! PTL

Psalm 61 NKJVย [ Assurance of Godโ€™s Eternal Protection ] [ To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David. ] Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. …

How different is my life now with God in it? a simple prayer and a loving relationship with my Father in Heaven I am so thankful for where my earthly Father may have failed.

Isaiah 31:1 NKJVย [ The Folly of Not Trusting God ] Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!

There were many who offered to help to get us home, but I chose to trust in God. Look to God as your Protector, look to God who softens hearts and changes lives.
