“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” I592
“βTherefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.” M523
As I prayed about unconfessed sins, the Lord has shown me a lie I uttered 5 years ago and how unclean my then thoughts were. And as much as I hesitated to share the truth because of the possible ramifications, it came out yesterday. Needless to say, I had to endure another trial (which I caused) and seemed to have fueled more anger in EH.
I have to admit that it left me feeling unsettled and defeated. And right after, the Lord showed me this verse – “The king is mighty, he loves justice – you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right.”
The truth is, praise the Lord as He is not done with me! “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” P1:6
Thank you my Husband who never forsake or leave me. You are the reason I want “create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” P5110
I want to encourage all the brides to be willing to be transformed by the words and sometimes it starts with confessing our sins. In Chapter 1 of the Wise Woman (https://hopeatlast.com/c3/d1-chapter-1-on-the-rock/) book it says “Confess your sins to one another. Those who have allowed themselves to become convicted are ready to bring change into their lives. If you are ready, begin by confession. βTherefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.β J516.”
May we all take heart.
Dear Gioia, how wonderful the Lord is, his purifying work in our hearts does not stop, Beloved, I recognize how difficult it can be when the Lord leads us to confess our sins to people against whom we have failed; For me it was hard, but nothing compares to how beautiful it is to obey what He asks of us, that gives us the peace to continue. Thanks to our Beloved who does not stop in restoring us to Him
Dear Perla, I can agree more. Thanks for confirming that it’s about restoring us to Him.
Dear Goia,
we have a wonderful HH who ensures that we become cleaner and more beautiful. That good work that He started is going on. Everything that we do not know that is still in our hearts and causes our bodies to dry out because we have not confessed them, He will tell us. Yesterday i was reading the Psalms and Proverbs and came on this scripture. https://www.bible.com/nl/bible/111/PSA.32.NIV
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, βI will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.β
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.
How wonderfull is the feeling when you told your HH all about what you no to need to confess and the peace that you will getπ. You are His precious bride that He will not forsake to tell how much He loves you and wants to be with you.
Much LoveπΉ
Dear Kristine, love the verse you shared. In fact that the whole Psalm 32 is so beautiful and described to me the difference between hiding sins and choosing the confess.
Thank you for sharing Gioia, I am forever grateful that our wonderful Lord is so busy in our lives, we are the clay and He is the Potter.
Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. I64:8
Dear Janine, love this verse! Looking back on all the changes in me and I would not trade them for anything.
Dear Goia, thank you for sharing and applying this principle of confession with us. Many times I became discouraged when I prayed to the Lord to transform myself and I saw that with the days more tests came, the more I failed, the more I passed, and generally I felt so unhappy when I failed. The thought of “I will never change” invaded me! But finally my Beloved made me understand that he used the tests to show me what was in my heart so that I would invite him to change me in that area (like the Knight that he is), which was just what he did, so he would wash me. With His word full of wisdom, I understood my mistake and learned how to act better in the next opportunity. He is very wise in his dealings with us! You are taking a big step dear!
Thank you Anastasia! It sure took a lot of courage but as long as I know He is leading, I can move forward. “I say to the LORD, βYou are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.β Psalm 16:2
Dear Goia thank you sharing with us in the manner of following his call his principle and also in a way remind us to ask Him to show us what we havent ask forgiveness yet for and allowing HIm to guide us in remind us and we in confessing it takes courage and He is who give us all that
Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, βI will confess my transgressions to the Lord.β And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Dear Jewel, yes His grace is sufficient! I love that you said to allow Him to guide. I am definitely learning more about leaning on Him to provide directions.
