โ Today's Promise: "Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you, shaken down to make room for more. Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top! Your measurement of generosity becomes the measurement of your return.โ Luke 6:38 (TPT)
There is a homeless person that sometimes walks around in my neighborhood and although I give when he asks, I never do it with a good heart and I donโt understand why I feel this way towards this person but I do. It may be because of a bad rapport I heard from our gardener but this should not influence me.
I took it to the Lord and asked Him to change my heart because even when I give, it is not with heart I should be giving. And every time he leaves, the Lord brings to mind the verse in Matthew 25:40
"The King will answer and say to them, โTruly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.โ"
Lord, I donโt want to stand in front of you and hear those words said about this person. Please change my heart.
It was just after our country went into lockdown, he came around again and I asked him to just wait. I will bring him something to eat.
At that stage, it was only me and my son home and there was not a lot of bread left. My son just loves toasted cheese sandwiches so I always make sure there is bread for him in the house should he want one. Then, I asked him if I can give away the last of our bread and he said yes.
I took the bread and some other things I found and gave it to him and this time I did it with His heart, not mine.
Now, let me tell you ladies, you will not believe what happened and I do believe all that happened afterwards was a direct result of this and all the glory goes to my Heavenly Husband for lovingly changing my heart.
It was a few days before lockdown that a friend of mine said she wants to borrow me some money so I can make sure I have enough food for the pets because at that stage we were a bit uncertain of what exactly would be available at the stores after lockdown. I thanked her and I was able to get enough food for my pets to get us through the whole lockdown.
After this man showed up at my gate, my friend left me a message saying that the Lord told her that I should keep the money she borrowed me and should please not pay it back.
During this period of lockdown, twice now, my eldest brother and his wife has just stopped here in front of my gate and dropped off so much groceries for me and the kids. Even after I told them that we are okay, we have all we needed, they still did it! And because my son gave up his bread, we got so much bread I had to freeze it and we got so much cheese, my son will never lack for a toasted cheese sandwich?.
Is the Lord not just so amazing in how He blesses us? Even when we have enough He still heaps blessings on top of blessings.
"Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you, shaken down to make room for more. Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top! Your measurement of generosity becomes the measurement of your return.โ Luke 6:38 (TPT)
