♕ Today's Promise: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love” 1 John 4:18
Dear Brides, this chapter 5 in the Poverty Mentality Course, “Hopelessly In Need of Him'' is so true and I think many of us would be able to understand and agree with the writer of how we wait until the last minute, until we are at the end of ourselves, until the situation becomes alarming before we take it to Him. Why do we wait until we are hopelessly in need of Him?
I have an ongoing account that needs to be paid and there is monies owing from the previous year added to it and I have a yearly bill that I need to pay. This is on top of my normal monthly expenses. Many times I think about how will I pay it? Where will I get that extra monies? Reading this chapter has made me realise that I must not leave it until it becomes really bad. I like how the writer explains about how when we get sick we go to the doctor and basically exhaust all avenues to find out what is wrong and then when the diagnosis is life threatening like cancer for example that is when we go to the Lord. It has encouraged me to go to Him now and ask Him to take care of it and to TRUST Him.
What He brought to mind while reading this chapter and especially after reading the testimony of Sara in Turkey was how hopelessly in need of Him I was a little more than a week ago... I just about made it to the bathroom to be with my Heavenly Husband to cry to Him after a driving lesson with my earthly husband. Heavenly Husband showed me that my earthly husband just does not have it, he is a man without the patience, the kindness or the ability to teach me. At the time though I was so heartsore and heartbroken with the way I was spoken to and sworn at... But can I just say though that it did not take my Heavenly Husband very long to turn my situation around after being hopelessly and desperately in need of Him after the miserable way I felt?
“Instead of your shame you will have a double portion, and instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land, everlasting joy will be theirs” Isaiah 61:7
I felt humiliated and ashamed and He brought this scripture to mind. I was so delighted to read it in this chapter and not only is it a confirmation but can I tell you something??? He turned the whole situation around! My earthly husband now proudly tells everyone how well I'm doing with my driving :)) This is due to my Heavenly Husband taking all my fears of driving away and giving me joy instead!! I will live out this principle by taking my worry and concerns to my Heavenly Husband not my earthly husband. And when the opportunity comes up to encourage other women to do the same.
Sometimes I think we complicate it but it's quite simple, we need to go to Him and ask Him for His help not only when we become hopeless and desperate but we need to take everything to Him every day, throughout our day, all the time and in all circumstances, desperate or not.
Dear Bride, you will really enjoy this chapter in Poverty Mentality, give yourself the time after reading to hear from the Lord, your Heavenly Husband, about a time when you were hopelessly in need of Him or if you are facing a hopeless situation come and read and be encouraged!! Being desperate according to this chapter is actually not a bad place to be in but a recommendation?!
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love” 1 John 4:18
This is one of my favourite scriptures, it is so easy to fear when we are bombarded with the thought of HOW? How do I take care of this? How do I pay this? What am I going to do? When He wants us to give Him our fears so that He can cover us in His love while He takes care of the how.
"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever." Psalm 138:8
When He takes care of our concerns it's just perfect.
