I too Was the Prodigal

Dear Brides, you will be amazed to learn in this Chapter 12 “Every Encumbrance” that what you thought was behind the story of the prodigal son was just half of it. In this Chapter you learn what the Father’s role is so you can apply it to the role that our Heavenly Father plays in our lives.

Not so long ago I too was the prodigal, and God allowed me to walk away from Him and then when the situation began to get out of hand and I had nowhere and no-one else to turn to, I remembered my Father and that He was indeed waiting for me to come home, waiting for me with open arms… and I did I come home and now I am fed and ready to feed His sheep ….

The story about the prodigal was not just about leaving and coming back when the going got tough. It was about the Father allowing the son to leave…. not standing in His wayโ€ฆ in order for Him to find His way back…. Returning to God very recently after being gone for a little while I have been spending more time with him in everything in prayer, devotions, and in reading the Word.

Luke 15:12-20 “And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

I was recently in a situation where someone I love and care for very much also wanted to pursue something else. I told the person to go and try to find what it was he was looking for and that I would not stand in his way. Then as per the lesson what he thought he wanted turned out not to be what he wanted. Had I stood in his way I believe in my heart things would not have turned out good. I also believe that by me exhibiting this behavior having the peace to allow the situation to unfold as it should, showed who my trust is in. We cannot trust people we must trust God to do and to allow what is right.

In my life, if anyone wants to do something and I feel it is not the right thing to do I will not stand in their way. I will let them be and do whatever it is they want to do and leave it at that. Even if I know that along the way it is not going to turn out well. We must all learn by our own mistakes.

I have been struggling with giving too much thought to things that are beyond my control, that I cannot control. I have also allowed situations and people to take up so much of my time that I did not have any time left for my HH.

If you have been struggling like I have, say this prayer with me: Dear Lord, it has been a while since I have written a letter to you. Firstly I want to thank you for being so patient and waiting for me to return to you. Darling, you know my heart and my mind and you know what I have been asking you. I have been asking you to make You and keep You as the most important person in my lifeโ€ฆ no matter what and to change my circumstances accordinglyโ€ฆ that way I will be closer to you.

Dear Brides, as most of you are standing for your marriages, what I have learnt is the most important thing. If your husband (or anyone in your life) wants to leave, let him/her leave and give him/her your blessing then work with your Beloved and do everything that you can to make him/her WANT to come back due to your closer relationship with Him.

All of us seek a life of abundance. Not merely going through life day by day leading a mediocre existence. This book teaches us how to live our lives abundantly by following biblical principles. God WANTS us to live abundant lives.
