Milk: a step towards maturity.

"You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.ย  For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesnโ€™t know how to do what is right. [14] Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong." Hebrewsโ€ฌ โ€ญ5:12โ€ญB-โ€ฌ14โ€ฌ โ€ญNLTโ€ฌโ€ฌ

This praise report has the intention of exalting the King of kings because He amazes me, leaves me breathless and makes me fall in love when He speaks about absolutely every topic that anyone wants to ask or know.

A few days ago, a friend asked me about a topic which I have already written testimonies before, but this time, My Beloved was pleased to come to my mind the right Word that I opened my sight at that moment and that filled me with so much clarity about what He guided me to do and since He is worthy of praise, it is propitious for me to bring it out here again.

What my friend has sought and tried with her strength to do with stopping breastfeeding under that 'new' concept of respectful parenting, which in my opinion is a disguised idea as self-sufficiency, of children who 'rule' and the ignorance of the voice of the Lord. And because she has tried everything, she was exhausted and needing to know the truth.

My first response was: โ€œseek the Lord firstโ€ and when I read this in our chat, it made me aware of my new dependence on Him, which I love... โค๏ธ And when I sought Him for wisdom, He led me to a word that really has the WOW factor! As I call it. It is incredible that His word covers that topic so specifically and says why it is necessary for the child to leave the mother's breast; Well, as always there is a spiritual reason for everything...

His Word says that who feeds on milk remains as a child, and this includes not only the biological area but even the mental area. Yes, dear ladies, in His agenda everything has a time until breastfeeding and that is a picture of our relationship and growth in intimacy with God.

My Beloved showed me how in the beginning all children need what they can process, digest and feed on. But over time, the appetite changes, the need for 'other nutrients' forces the body to leave milk and take a step towards maturity. Isn't this the same as our first approaches with His Word when we read and understood nothing? Well, that was the milk: embrace and digest the โ€œlittleโ€ we understood. Over time, our understanding will increase. Our tastes and needs change. And then, why are there children who can't seem to stop breastfeeding? Well, the understanding He provided me is that it is by force of practice, that is, greater exposure to other nutritional options, progressively that 'desire' for maturity.

I was struck by how my Beloved spoke of the ones who ONLY drinking milk. He says that they don't know how to do the right thing. Yes that's how it is! Their behavior is linked to their diet. ๐Ÿคฏ The same applies to us as His brides.

The KJV version of the verse says that solid food is for those who have reached maturity, for those whose senses are exercised by use. So, I was able to share with my friend that what my Prince of Peace had guided me was to allow my baby to exercise her senses and, well, by the end, trust and let the river of His love flows.
And as I encouraged and shared with her what my Beloved guided me at that moment, I thought about how much it can encourage us to share about what He does.
This moment is as a reminder of His goodness at that time and how everything we have experienced results in a blessing to others.

  1. Thank you for sharing my sweet Mรญa!! We all need to start to listen to the Voice of Truth, who is our Beloved! He is the only one who can gives “the food we need”to develop for His glory I decided a while ago to listen to the Him, my unique voice of Truth, and not only to listen but to believe Him always!

    1. Dear Isabella
I praise the Lord for His revelation of different topics but specifically His path over my motherhood and His blessings through my baby. He knows all details and I am totally in agreement with you: we need His voice, His guidance and love.

  2. Lieve Mia,

2 Tim 3 : 16-17

    Dear Mia,
Thank you for this beautiful praise. I am amazed at what our Heavenly Man has shown you later. Nice to make the connection between our spiritual food (switching from milk to solid food) and feeding a baby. His Word is an inexhaustible source of wisdom!!!!

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17

  3. Thank you Mia for sharing, I agree we start of with baby food and baby steps. We move from milk to feasting at our Husband’s table. And we move from crawling to baby steps to dancing with joy!
